What does acid rain damage look like ?

I've heard lots of descriptions about acid rain damage and have seen some pictures. Most of the pictures I have seen of so-called acid rain look like water marks as if you didn't dry the car. I have tiny specs (or pits) that almost look like metallic flake but they are too far apart. So I'm wondering if its acid rain or not ?
