What Do You Wear When Detailing?

I'm really curious to know what you other detailers wear when detailing a car, etc. I always wear cotton sweat pants and a cotton t-shirt. I tried wearing shorts and my sweaty legs always left marks on the cars, etc. I never wear any jewelry or jeans because of the scratch factor. Belts are a definite no no with me. Oh, and one more thing. I sweat like a pig when I'm detailing. I've lost 46 pounds in the last 14 months since I started detailing full time. I went from 234 pounds down to 188 pounds. I'm 6'3 and I feel like I'm in the best shape of my life. Us detailers work hard for our money.
 
Norah ... do we have to get out the hose and cold water???

I usually wear jeans and a t-shirt that is not tucked in. I am very careful to not lean against the vehicle.

Besides, just because you're on a diet, doesn't mean you can look at a menu! :naughty !!!!
 
I wear a polo shirt w/logo, and tie string cargo shorts (no belt), and the only jewelry I rock is my wedding ring and an earing. I never touch paint without a microfiber in hand so I don't really worry about scratching paint that way. And yeah, you will definitely sweat off a couple pounds, but give it another year and your body will adapt.
 
When working on my own car and friends I go barefoot and shirtless with shorts when the weather warrants it. When working for customer it's usually the tennis shoes, soft fabric cargo shorts/pants/ and a t-shirt. I really want to look into getting some custom shirts.

I should try it too, I bet all my back hair would work on the paint better than any MF every will.
 
usually i detail in stuff that a wore to sleep, becaue i do a lot of my detailing in the morning, before it gets too hot, and i dont wanna waste any time changing. that and im too lazy :)
 
I work out of my garage and would love to detail in the buff but knowing me I would get my wanker slammed in the door or caught on something.

cotton gym shorts or cutoff sweatpants
cotton sweatshirt turned inside out

no jewelry, bracelets, watches, or body piercing stuff

I'm a Glamour Gal!!

A (very carefully placed!) step-ladder :rolleyes: & old elastic waist shorts & a t-shirt - nothing that will scratch when I have to stretch & reach over the V - if it ever cools off enough, I might break out the ever-glamourous sweat-pants!

Hey, I'm out there to make the :car look good - I can always make myself look good when I'm done! :jump
 
Cotton pull tie shorts in summer and sweats in the winter. Always cotton t shirts. I'm not that tall so I have to lean against the car now and then so I go for non abrasive clothes.
I also wear a apron well uding the PC that way I can put the product in the pocket in the front if I need an extra hand
