I've been using washing machine with warm water & whatever liquid detergent my wife gets...usually Era or All. Then I dry in dryer. This process seems to work just fine and gets the towels & pads clean. There doesn't seem to be any smell from the wax/polish left on the rags. Oh & I don't use bleach or softener. No need to use bleach unless you're trying to whiten, which isn't really necessary IMHO.
