What do YOU use for a head turning shine...

Meguiars 105/205, then Meg's #7, followed by NXT 2.0 and a coat of #26.

Damn, that looks absolutely killer. :xyxthumbs

Correcting the paint first, then using 85rd to amp the gloss, cleaning the paint with EZ Creme Glaze then seal with BFWD. Talk about the slickest surface out there.

I plan on going down the 85RD route with the car this year. Menz IP/FP/85RD....

Real quick DJMayo,

I have 85 rd and a Flex DA. Which pad and speed is best to use 85rd to "Amp up the Gloss" on the flex?

Sory about that....

In a nut shell wax and or sealant are just the icing on the proverbial cake so to speak.

The true beauty comes from making the paint as flat as possible so the light reflects back to you off the flat surface, instead of refract in a million directions from catching on the edge of a swirl, scratch etc

The numbers I listed are products

M105 is Meguiars 105 compound

M205 is Meguiars Polish

85rd is a final polish from Menzerna

Hope that helped

Thanks for the compliment!

God damn light and its refracting! i hate you science!

i was just wondering what the products were.

But words from the wise i shall heed! ....(think its heed) but you know what i mean. ha

hopefully i shall have pictures like that soon. I just ordered a lot of things and now i have to wait for it not to rain on the weekend.

all great pictures indeed. congrats.

bottom line is;

crappy prep work + great lsp (no matter the coats) = disappointing shine

great prep + so-so lsp = damn good shine

great prep + great lsp = damn good shine

after trying a number of lsp's i've come to the conclusion that its more about the application/removal/slickness of lsp that influence judgments. i've done 50/50 tests on light and dark paint and it always looks the same. that is sealant vs sealant, wax vs wax.

and believe me, i'm in the ocd hall of fame.

i firmly believe we talk ourselves into all kinds of opinions on lsp products based upon price and the flavor of the month product. nothing is easy. polishes are easier to distinguish. lsp's not so much. shiny is shiny.

anyway that's my 2 cents.

Well put on the part about talking ourselves into opinions on different products. But it's often difficult not to over some of the hype of particular products. Last year, I bought Zaino and now I just ordered some Pinnacle Souveran plus some Sonus Carnauba Spritz to maintain it.

After major swirl removal/compounding I would imagine the jewelling process could make a huge difference. I've never really thrown in that 3rd step though. Something like SIP followed by 106FF has treated me well. Follow that with RMG and Souveran:

Showoff! Lol! That's an incredible picture. :2thumbs:

BTW, I use Jeffs Werkstatt Prime Acrylic and AJT on my Silver Cobra. And to add some depth, I top it with Natty's Red. Great combo, and great depth for my silver car.
