idots like that give people like me, who are very educated and proficient detailers but work at a dealership a bad name. i have worked with several people like that. wool pad, 3m extra cut, some glaze call it good. always p'ed em off though a month later when the vehicle they did looked like a wreck and mine was still beamin. they always accused me of using some sort of secret product. haha great stuff.

Apparently when you use a foam pad the compound must have magical filling properties that wear off, where as the wool pad truly is the only way to remove the swirls. :2thumbs:

i was trying to explain to him that foam pads could take out swirls....he disagreed and believes only wool pads could.

Don't waste your time. If anything, this gives us an idea of how bad misconception is in this broad industry. Use these ideas and develop a way to educate consumers or customers willing to learn the appropriate information that has valid basis.

The only thing I can't get out are scratches that are so deep they have carved thin grooves into the body. Any swirls are removable, just the marks from harsh washing and bad polishing are not.

Oh yeah, he’s right. Silicones in wax will totally eat through stuff. :scared:
