I'm trying to make ...

1) my car have that wet look

2) shine like its brand new!

3) any advice on the scratches would be nice (yeah, being 17, in high school, with a G35 brought some haters!)

4) in picture 7, you can see a kinda like 'spider web' type paint beat down thing.. this is happening on my hood, in a few spots... why?

Please recommend products and stuff I should use, I need this as clean as possible.

I got some money to spend, but more than $200-300.

I already got some Meguiar's Soap, but I need everything from the ground up, cause I don't know nothing about washing cars, obviously, by the swirl marks you see.

Thanks so much guys, +1 to peeps who help.

:thx

your best bet is getting a starter kit package from autogeek, or detailersdomain. read some how tos, and go at it.

take some pictures of the damage, and of your car and the sun, and alot of us could help you better.

the rear bumper at the bottom right looks like it was hit or the paint has come off, if so It should be re-sprayed at a GREAT body shop. I say great because that is a nice car and you DONT WANT a hack shop to do that work for you. That said, the scratch on the rear bumper also looks kinda deep maybe its my eyes, but If you got the bumped re sprayed then that scratch on there too would be gone....

however more pictures would help, and if I were you it wouldn't take me much and I would do a dawn wash and take it from t here, that thing is dirty.

Normally I am in favor of putting together my own products to purchase and not package deals as they just never have ALL you need.

Package 1 @ $289.99 Pinnacle Meguiars G110 Swirl Remover Kit with FREE BONUS!!

Package 2 @ $189.99 Pinnacle Twins & Meguiars G110 Dual Action Polisher Kit with FREE BONUS!

IME the G35 has a very hard clear coat yes? (someone else that knows chime in here)

i would have to disagree, unless its hard for polishing... which i be doing soon, otherwise the clear cote could be swirled pretty easily i'm a g owner aswell but trying to keep it at slightly better shape ;)

what i found out from other G members the menzerma if i got the name correctly SIP works pretty well on our coats with 4" PC, on mine i just used zaino, but now the swirls are getting to me so i'm going to polish it,

where do you live ? who in their right mind would scratch up a car....

Well that's annoying, I tried to post new pics and it says it has to be moderated, so I guess they'll be up when someone accepts them.

Right now I'm setup to buy some

Klasse AIO

and some Microfiber Towels, and a PC.

Anyone else got any recommendations?

I'm trying to get the car as shiny and 'wet look' as possible. The scratches i'll worry about later.

You might need something with a little more cutting power than AIO. It's a good one-step product, but if the clear is as tough as people say (I haven't personally worked on one) you'll need something tougher. I'd also recommend a package from one of the online stores to get you started. Check out the Detailed Image bundles for the essentials:

got money or have money? use that $300 that you gots and hire a detailer

+1. At that price a good detailer should be able to bring that G back to life for ya, unless your looking to purchase products to be able to do it yourself.

Have you tried reaching out to any detailers on the Forum or reputable ones in your area to have that assess the damage?

I am trying to do it myself yes, that would be the idea. I could get a detailer, but what about the next time? I won't have no products, and no knowledge. Hence why I joined the forums.

So yes, I'm trying to learn, from scratch...absolutely nothing.

KAIO = zero cut. Good paint prep/cleaner, that's about it. Infiniti G paint is SOFT.. not hard. A PC should be able to do plenty of correction with a couple good polishes. I wouldn't go over an orange pad. I'd use all 4" pads - don't waste your time with 6"

EDIT: In case my wording was funny. I mean I wouldn't use more aggressive than an Orange Lake Country pad. No yellow.

Hey i have a g to and i have just started to use a rotary and have the flex3401.I started with a pc and i would get one of the starter kits with menzerna products and add some 4" pads and backing plate.

Heres a pic of mine.

Thanks Toyota!

I'm going to go do a basic wash, nothing fancy, since I dont got any of the good products left, but something so you guys can see it without all the dirt.... well.. less dirt :)

Then I'll post some even better ones, that show all the other crap.

Double negatives aside, some of your paint damage is beyond the basics and after being corrected shouldn't be a problem again as long as you keep up with some basic maintenance.

Posting pictures after a wash will help, some of the stuff is difficult to discern between being dirty and bad water spotting.

On a dynojet 427rwhp and 434rwt but on a dynodynamics which is a truer reading dyno its 382rwhp and 396rwt.Its still a blast to drive and i dont care about dyno #'s the 1/4 mile tells all.Im at 9psi and run 12.3 at 113mph on street tires.I cant wait to try drag radials as my best 60 foot is 1.91 on streets.

get some products and maintain with every other month a quick polish session - something like meguiars 66, poliseal, etc a good one step, then wax...your car should always be protected and looking its best!
