What do you mobile detailers do if no shade

What do you mobile detailers do if your customers want a complete wax job and they don't have a garage or your doing there car in their parking lot at work?

I've got a 10x10' EZup that works well for making shade while detailing. They aren't that expensive, and you can get them at Walmart. It's compact when folded up and you can put it up in just a couple minutes, then you can cover the car up anywhere (parkinglot, driveway, ect)

Yep, I've got a tent for my work. a 10'x10' EZ-up tent. I can set it up by myself and it has side flaps so I can get shade on the car even if the sun is coming in at a hard angle.

I don't have a tent and around here, it tends to be windy all the time so I just work in the sun. I try to schedule cars so I can wax them in the morning or late in the afternoon. I have found that American Shine's carnuba wax ( www.americanshine.com ) works very well in the sun, even at straight up noon on black. Goes on easy and wipes off with no effort. No dusting or streaking either. Worth checking out until you can get a tent.

I've got a mobile job coming up in which there will not be shade to wash (but we can polish/wax in the garage - whew!)

So, will it be OK to wash in the sun? I feel like we will be committing a mortal sin doing this!!

That's because you have been brainwashed into believing it's detramental to wash in the sun. I do it 110 deg. daily.

I use one of the best waxs out there which is Mother's carnuba cleaner wax.

Why just today I did a beamer and a beelte in the sun 96 deg. no problem. When it's humid though, it sucks.

I have no problems washing under the sun as long as I do it portion-by-portion...

pre-rinse roof, wash roof, dry roof... then off to glass/windows, then doors, trunks, hood... if the car has been recently driven, i open the hood to let it cool and do it last...

just dry asap to prevent watermarks.

I wash with Protect All Quick and Easy Wash and since you just wash a section at a time (no rinsing is needed) and dry immediately, I don't have any problems with water spots-in addition, I only have to carry about 6 gallons of water with me each day.

BTW, polishing and waxing in the garage is not all it's cracked up to be-especially on a humid, windless day. I usually am changing shirts every hour because they get so sweat soaked.

Scott, I replied to one of your posts about q & e but it was around the time of the move and I can't find it so forgive me for being repetitive but where do you get your q & e. I live in the Arlington area would like to try it. I see that they have it at American RV center on division street is this where you go?

Yeah, that is where I buy it. American RV is west of Bowen and is at the bottom of a small hill just past a mobile home park. The business next to it has a faded red Mustang convertible on the roof. You can't miss it.

They usually have it in 16 oz, 32 oz and gallon sized.

Give me a call at 817 325-5376 if you have any trouble finding it.
