What do you keep your Clay in?

I wrap it in some seran wrap, then put it in a baggie, and then in a small tupperware container. It might be a little over kill but it keeps it soft.
 
I use Pinnacle Clay, which comes in a plastic container with a "screw on" top. I keep mine in that container with the lid on tight, and also keep it moist with QD.
 
IME clay doesn't dry out (this opinion is shared by David B. who knows a bit about clay ;) ). I often leave a blob stuck to one of my wash buckets and it always stays OK.



But I usually keep my clay in the plastic jars and boxes that it came in back before vendors started just selling it in plastic wrap, I must have five or six of the things. AFAIK Griot's clay still comes in a nice plastic jar with a screw-on lid.



Oh, and I found that my clay holds up better since I quit putting some QD in with it.
 
I just got an order for mixing bottles and while I was there I bought a few of these tin containters from Specialty Bottles. They're nice and cheap and so far work pretty well to keep my clay clean. I got a few extras and use them for all sorts of things now.

Go to target and go to the section where they have travel size toothpaste and shampoos etc....they have soap holders that are perfect for clay. Spray some qd on them and close it up

Beats me.. :nixweiss Ask David B. or prove it to yourself with a blob of clay. IF your experience differs, post back explaining it so I can start adding a "YMMV" caveat when I post this stuff.



I suppose it *might* go bad if you left the clay there long enough, but over the course of a few weeks or so, I have no problems at all. It needs replaced (due to use/contamination) after a while anyhow, or at least mine always does.



Seriously...I always keep a blob of old clay on the spray bottle full of wash solution that I use on wheels. It sits there for weeks (before it gets really nasty and I have to replace it) and never goes bad. I've been doing this for years with Griot's/Mother's, Smart, and Sonus brand clays.

Depends how contaminated it is. Noting that I err on the side of caution and go through a *lot* of clay as a result, sometimes after spot-claying or gentle pre-LSP-refreshing I just knead it and keep it for future use.



But no, reuse isn't too likely if I use it on a truly contaminated vehicle!
