What do you do with your stuff in the winter?

Oh yeah...there was a thread here...

I keep all of my stuff in my basement throughout the whole year. It would definitely freeze here during the winter...it's 2 degrees outside now!

Is it really that hard to bring the stuff in?...You avoid the frustration of realizing that your stuff doesn't work properly in the spring (maybe).

Accumulator... I keep my garage heated too. most of the time around 50ish. If the dogs are in there during the day, I'll bump it up to about 60 for them. I was in there this weekend in shorts and a T-shirt detailing my car.

David & VictoryRed, I'd be happy to cover shipping costs on anything you're not interested in. :)

Am I the only guy here who keeps his detailing garage heated? I keep most of my supplies in a storage closet off the garage office and the thermostat for that area is set around 48F. But heat rises up from the main shop so it's usually a bit warmer than that. The stuff I use regularly is down in the main shop where I always keep it close to comfortable.

I don't know what I would do if my garage wasn't heated. Tomorrow I will be detailing my roomates truck. The temp outside will probably be below zero, but inside it will be a comfortable 65 degrees :D

That must be nice.

David, I'm also interested in your frozen inventory!

Frozen? My thermometer starts at about 50 and goes up to 85... It would be a cold day in Hell before I saw white stuff (other than sand) here!

If you're serious I'd be interested in picking a few things up...nothing of yours should freeze so I thought the offer may have been tongue in cheeck.

One thing I like about Atlanta is that we get to enjoy all four seasons and none of them are extreme most years.

Don't have a problem with that here, although it did get down to the low 40's a few weeks ago. I keep most of my stuff in a relatively climate controlled area anyway.

My stuff lives right here in my basement:

It was -45 with the wind chill up here a couple of days ago. It would easily freeze and never survive outside.

My garage isn't heated but it is attached so it usually stays above freezing unless it gets pretty frigid out. I still brought most of my stuff into the basement just to be safe. Like Paul says, it just isn't worth the risk of trying to figure out if a product got messed up from the cold.
