What do you consider a Bulk Product? And why?

Just because something is offered in bulk/large sizes (55 gallons), it shouldn't automatically discredit a product or company. However, as you mentioned, many of these companies that specialize in these large quantities haven't updated their product line in many years/decades. In fact most aren't in tune with modern detailing technology that has evolved in the last 10+ years. Most importantly polishing compounds, cleaners & protectants.

I was sure this was the intent of your post in regards to bulk products having a negative connotations. I suspect many continue to use the same formulas because they are very cheap to produce since newer technologies usually cost more despite being more effective and could save time. They may use the better stuff when the cheap stuff does not work. In production detailing, are the benefits of better even appreciated unless it reduces the cost to the bottom line?

..Keep in mind that 3D and HD are a completely different line of products. Most of the HD line isn't even offered in gallon sizes. It was purposely created to cater to high end detailers & enthusiasts and to differentiate/separate itself from the 3D line up and the bulk stigma attached to it.

For some reason I find the 3D/HD dichotomy confusing; I can never seem to remember which line a given product came from
