just some midnight rumblings, as I wait for my Makita to come in..
threw both my Fein and Metabo on the scale. Both had the same backing plate on it.
1 oz difference between the two. Fein weighed in at 5.14 1/2oz and the Metabo at 5 13 1/2 oz.
My main factors on using a polisher is reliability, balance and moreso how good or bad vibration is transferred through the body. By adding the Mak, it has all these qualities AND a trigger switch. Dunno about ya;ll, but whereas in the woodworking world (all these same qualities apply).....having a trigger switch is a huge +++ IMO in dealing with paint.
While weight will always be nice and applicable when working with vertical panels -- hot dang, whatever unit I'm working better not thermal....
