what do i need to build a detail shop?

Thanks to all. Hope i haven't hijacked the thread.

Tassadar: What a nice compliment! I have two utility carts with 4200K flourecesent light fixtures. These carts can follow me around the car as I work. That's the light source.

Yeah, my CRV EX is Clean, but, hey! Who does those floors?

PS Ever notice that Honda does not badge the CRV with the DX, LX, EX? My EX would become ... CRVEX? Make your own joke...
 
I also should add it is a great pic. It's not a phtography studio! You did great with what you had there. Also it looks like a great place to detail. I wish my bay was more like yours.
 
Hey im back from germany and had a blast. I maxed out a modena on a hill down the autobahn...did you know they have speed limits on parts of it now because of all the trucks. They have these RS4 station wagons that i had no clue were that fast, I had one tail gating me all the way to 150mph(he wiped the smile off my face realy fast). And with the car deal that is a seperate personal matter but that was a very informative post. The shop comment was just a plan of mine as a side job for the future after i finish school. That is a great pic and congrats on starting you own shop. And how is a viper and typhoon high end cars..the viper is 50k and the typhoon is 12k. But lets just end this i dont share money issues wiht people i dont know so the post is not going any place and im still getting the cars so i will post pics when i get them. Guys thank you for all the information but im still looking for my info .........how about some pictures of you shops or work areas so i can get some ideas from that.

Danny the info I gave you was info on starting a shop! Money matters I agree are personal I just wanted to give you the other info you will need to start a shop IF you plan on financing the the start up costs.. KOOP summed it up pretty well on what you will need as far as suplies. A shop cuts out factors that mobile detailers face as far as weather and mobile equiptment but the down side is the costs... good luck keep us posted !!!
