What do I need for my new rotary?

Just purchased a Makita 9227C from Coastal Tool. Does this come with a backing plate? How big? What pads will I need to go with this? Obviously need some kind of cutting pad. Do I need a polishing pad also? I have a porter cable which I can use for AIO etc, but if its easier with a rotary i'll just use that. Are meguiar's pads better than the 3m waffle pads? Thanks

I hope you like the Makita as that will be the one I'm going to get if I get a rotary. I'm fairly certain you can use the LC pads for the PC with a rotary. Meg's makes pads in sizes for both a PC or a rotary. I think the waffle pads are only made by 3m. I would get at least a pair of each type of pad from one or more of these manufacturers.

The backing plates are not as large as the pad itself. I use 3M Foam Polishing pads and the red Meguiars cutting pads.
