What do I do now?

Hello. I have been lurking around this website for a few months now and have learned a lot!



I learned about this site from a BMW website about the same time I learned about Zaino. I have an '87 BMW 325is which was in pretty good shape. I had carefully read every screen at the Mother's website and bought every one of their products. I clayed, polished, glazed, and waxed - all by hand. It was a lot of work and the results were good, but I just couldn't eliminate the swirls and streaks. After my first application of Z1 and Z5 I was hooked! The car never looked so good! Even with 15 year old factory black paint! I know the consensus is that Zaino doesn't remove swirls but 5XZ5 sure beat anything I could do with M's polish or glaze products.



Since I found Autopia, I have ordered a few things through CMA - PC 7424 (missed the thread about buying the 7336 instead - drat!) w/white, yellow, and grey pads, Klasse AIO, P21S, 303 Aerospace Protectant, Pinnacle clay, lots of foam applicators, and two big batches of mf towels, one each from PakShak and JT. Almost bought the Vac N'Blo but saw the article about the Shark Ultra and bought one of those instead.



Now I've done all my cars and some of them more than once. I don't want to drive them lest they get dirty and when it rains-faggheddabouit. My new 2002 BMW 330Ci which I got last April still has only 479 miles on it. Aside from lots of QD, I haven't washed any of them in more than a month.



So what do I do now? I was actually thinking about buying another car to "restore" but I don't have any more garage space.:sosad

I agree. Break that BMW in and then pound some pavement with it. You gotta show off that shine:D



Plus, the more you drive it and the dirtier it gets, the more you get to clean. Some people have commented that without getting their cars dirty, they can't appreciate the real shine they acheive
 
I used to hate driving my cars after all that work but I realize that I bought a particular car to drive it, not show it. Lots of people buy garage queens because that's what they really want; something to polish and tinker with whenever they get the urge to polish and tinker. If that's why you bought the BMW, great, polish and tinker all you want. But I like to drive my cars and I no longer worry of the car gets dirty or swirled or scratched or whatever. 90% of the damage I can fix and the remaining 10% gets chalked up to enjoyment of the car.



I say..... Drive On!!!

Give the 330ci, and I will break the car in for you and make sure it has good home while you use the garage space to restore another car. Do not work to fast restoring the other car.



Seriously get out and drive the car and have some fun like BMW intended.
