Finished up my MKZ today for its spring clean up...it now has over 80K miles. The front facia and edge of hood showing some age from the road abuse.

Process:
  • Clay barred front facia with Mother Clay bar and Mothers Showtime
  • Cleaned paint with Four Star Pre-Wax Cleaner using Rupes 15 with blue Uber pad - first time use of the paint cleaner.
The Four Star Pre-Wax cleaner is a bit thicker and oilier than other paint cleaners I have used. Worked fine just need to use less to keep from extra wipe off.
  • Paint prepped CarPro Eraser
If you ever use Eraser, you will not likely go back to IPA. Effortless.
  • Cleaned trim with Mothers Trim Cleaner - first time use
Worked well, gelish made it easy to use with a towel to scrub surfaces
  • Protected trim with Ultima Trim Tire Guard
  • Cleaned and protected plastic chrome with Mothers Cleaner Wax
  • Cleaned tires with Mothers Back to Black Tire Renew
  • Wheel wells dressed with Solution Finish
  • Chrome wheels cleaned with Mothers Chrome Polish
  • Tires with Wolfgang Black Onyx Tire Dressing
    Crisp look with satin(?) sheen
  • Paint protected with Wolfgang Deep Paint Sealant
Super easy, quick haze, fairly slick, not a lot of depth as some but nice gloss and clarity
  • Weather seals protected with Mothers Back to Black
  • Under hood area cleaned with Ultima Waterless Wash Plus with some RaceGlaze brush and towels
The original definition of almost unlimited use cleaner - interior or exterior
  • Engine dressed with Sonus Trim and Motor Cote
  • Glass cleaned with Sprayway Glass Cleaner

Some finished shots...

Finished up my MKZ today for its spring clean up..

I drove it to work today. It has been a dust magnet. I may do a wipe down with WG Spritz Sealant. This was one of the first time in recent memory that I did the LSP last after doing the wheels, trim, except for the glass.

I think those love bugs have the same blood as those things in "Alien". that stuff will eat through anything if left on long enough.:yikes:

Did a rinseless wash and some D156 on my Ram yesterday only to have it rain and getting to drive in it an hour after getting it done.

So today I did a bucket wash.

Have been doing weekend projects on the Tahoe, trying get the exterior ready for polishing. Did wash and Hydro2 my girlfriend's and my motorcycles.

I did what I call a quick wash and it still took me an hour from the time I walked outside to when I finished up. It did spend 5 minutes removing some water marks.

I used Auto Finesse Lather (about 3/4 oz in 3 gallons) and cleaned up the jambs with Mothers Showtime (the cinnamon scent has a kick). I did not redress tires (Wolfgang looked great).

Well Since I had some time I went ahead and tried out some of my PolishAngel products and applied the Viking Shield. My car was pretty clean so I just pulled out the foam gun and gave it a good lathering. Before I did that I tried some PolishAngel ULTRARED. Seemed to work pretty good on the nasty stuff stuck on the paint

After cleaning and drying the car I used Polish Angel's Escalate Lotion. Man this stuff was amazing. A little went a long way and it left the paint nice and smooth. Here's a shot after I was done using it.

Made sure the paint was clean and then applied some Viking Shield. Oh boy does this stuff make the paint pop. Here are some shots after I was done. Too bad the sun not to stay up for me.
