What did you do detailing wise today?

Kind of moderate in PA today for a change. Sun and all blue sky. Good to get some fresh air after another 50 hr. week. Normal wash/detail on the ZR2. Another coat of wolfstiens tonneau protectant on my cover before the really crappy weather hits. And a quick coat of Pinnacle glass cleaner & repellant on the windshield.

On a side note the winter blend gas is now at all pumps. Which equals dropping gas mileage now.

I took delivery of a couple bottles of Sunday Best shampoo. That was a Jimbo Balaam recommendation. Washed a couple cars with it, seems to be pretty good. The "density" of the resulting foam is way up there, clings very well as you make your way around the vehicle. Good cleaning power.

That explains alot. While my Tacoma isn`t exactly thrifty on fuel, the average MPG`s have went down a little over 1.5 over the past couple weeks. Gah!

Washed my truck. Lots of tar on it from a paving project going on here lWeber ately. It was even on the windshield.
Cleaned the stainless steel grill and topped (coated?) it with Dr Beasley Metal Coat. We`ll see how well it holds up but the grill is a little slicker. I really just want something on it to make it easier to clean
I probably should clarify. I used Dr Beasley on my Weber BBQ grill that lives outside, along with the SS microwave and SS stove inside the kitchen. I think the grill is still good, but the kitchen stuff could uses another coat after 2 months. I normally wipe the entire kitchen down weekly. The outside stuff doesn`t have schedule.

Got a 2000 F150 yesterday and the paint looks horrible. Did a test spot today, and I think it will shine up nicely. Not looking for perfection or anything close to that. Just needs to be presentable with some gloss and shine.

Did not expect to do a wash today, but just got one in. BONUS. Still calling for rain & snow but don`t care. It`s done. I needed some therapy after that 50 hour week.

Gave my wife`s Telluride one last wash before it is sold back to the dealer. They are offering us $6k more than we bought it for, so off it goes!

Is that 6k after taxes and fees? I got a 5k better offer but after figuring what I paid for taxes and fees when bought didn’t net me much and I don’t know what I would buy to replace it.

It came out to $4500 after fees and taxes. There nothing on the lot to replace it with so it is still with us. Lol

Got to do yet another wash/detail on the ZR2. 42 out. LOL. Sadly finally moved all my stuff to a heated portion of the basement. Mid 20`s in the evenings. SAD.

It hasn`t gotten that cold here yet, but everything has been packed up and sent down to the basement. It`s now rinseless wash season. And quickly remembering how much I hate the coin op car washes around here.

Yea. Fresh air. Outdoors. Normal routine wash/detail on the ZR2. Finished with TWSC and Wolfstiens tonneau cover protectant. Figure it was decent out, so why not use the spray coating. All done this past Saturday.

Trying to get thru actually using some of the products I`ve gotten over the last couple of years:

Routine wash/detail Saturday afternoon after the rain stopped. Not 5 min after i was done that wind and a brief rain shower moved in. Of course. Today just had to do a quick wipe down with TW HS detailer. Since the truck did not move. Sunny and 43 today. Should have waited till today. LOL CRAZY WEATHER.

Finally had a moment to wash my baby after 4 weeks. Got a moment to try out Polish Angels Blue Xilion, it truly darkened the paint. I tried to capture it on camera, but I couldn`t.

Boss decided it’s time to sell my favorite race car I’ve been involved with building/developing. Getting it spruced up for the next owner.

Full wipe down inside with ONR.

Underhood cleaned up with Griots Brilliant Finish Rinseless, speed master wheel brush, compressed air.

Bug carcasses/rubber streaks/removed sticker goo removed with “Skidmarks” cleaner (some D-limonene based cleaner his dad wanted to try). Paint hit with Blackfire One Step and a Griot’s orange pad.

It’s a black race car that previously had a wrap on it - 100% defect removal was not the goal.

The new owner stopped by before I hit it with One Step and commented on how shiny the car was; it was clear I’m really just cleaning it for my own peace of mind…
