What did you do detailing wise today?

No pictures.

But I spent the past Labor Day weekend polishing the wife`s new Black Pearl VW GLI. This was a "Lemon Law" replacement, so I got them to do the basic PPI but I did all the "unwrapping". That worked out for me since the paint was as good as I could hope for.

Used CarPro Essence with my Rupes 15es and a Yellow Finishing Pad. The gloss and pearl pop was very nice.

The coating of choice was
CarPro CQUK 3.0 (2-Layers) and then I followed up with 1-Layer of CarPro CQ TiO2.
So 3 full layers of coating.

I was able to let the car sit outside in the sun and in the garage overnight.
The next day after another full day of curing and not driving it I followed up with Reload.

this was only in for a basic clean yesterday and it was great to be able to do one of my dream cars

Intense THANKSGIVING morning wash/detail on the truck. Peace and quiet after a rough 3 days at work. 4 off now. It is now MILLER TIME!!

Moved my chemicals to the heated portion of the garage. It`s on it`s way. 20`s during the night next week.
I pulled everything last week. Temps keep going up and down, but it`s close enough.
I always think about how nice it is to do a full running water wash with the pressure washer out once to twice a week in the summer when the cars don`t really need it, but how rough it is to get a rinseless wash in the winter every couple weeks when you should be washing every couple days. Sigh........

It’s supposed to be a warm winter with plenty of days in the 40s. This is plenty warm for me to pull out the hose and some warm wash solution. Go Bills!

Did a Fenylab Pure Rinseless yesterday follow’d by an Frothe Waterless today, Eraser followed by a coat of Kami Overcoat and then PA Cosmic Spritz.

FINALLY washed my always-outside 2007 BMW 328i today, with a strong mix of Ech2O. Car hasn`t been polished in about a year, and is wearing basically just the Ech2O at this point.

Got a wash/interior in today. Knocked off all the dirt and salt. Rain tomorrow but warm. Then the bottom falls out. Very cold and snow for the 25th.

Rinsed off the scuz at the coin op. 30* so it’ll freeze. Maybe tomorrow I can do a rinseless and top it up with something. Need to fix the tailgate handle that broke in the cold and rotate tires which is easier when cleaner

PA weather finally broke this afternoon. 40`s. Did the usual wash/interior. Paid special attention to flush out the undercarriage. Used degreaser and just a strong jet of water. Another coat of tonneau cover protectant. About 2.5 hours spent on it. It was filthy! Now it`s too clean to drive! LOL.

I did the same thing as well. Everything underneath was an absolute disaster as they really pile on the salt on the mountain. Didn`t want to make my driveway a mess to I just went to the coin-op up the street. I went through almost a whole bottle of degreaser, but I got it pretty darn clean. Got several funny looks, but whatever, I`d rather keep the underside clean than have another rot-box on my hand.

I feel it`s worth it. When i traded the Xterra, dealer asked did you keep it garaged? The underside looks great for a 6 year old vehicle. No. It was outside 24/7. I just flushed the underside on a regular basis. Must have paid off. I am currently looking at the UNDERWASHER. Just a deal you hook up to your regular hose and go to town on your undercarriage. Yea. PA is nasty for road salt!

So, how is that Toyota treating you? Nothing like a new truck!

It`s a love-hate relationship honestly right now. Love the truck, somewhat hate the engine/transmission combo. It is getting better with 700 miles on the clock now, or I`m just getting used to it. Gotta rev the snot out of it to get the 3.5L going whereas the old 4.0L had the power low...

40s would be great. It`s been mid 30 to high 20s for the last few weeks. The other issue is hoping to get "warm" day when I`m off. 10 hour work days and it being pitch black at 530pm, we all know this time of year.
Putting my wife`s winter tires on after it snowed was a ton of fun as well.
Go Bills!
