What did you do detailing wise today?

I`ve watched videos and seems like you don`t need much. Few sprays into the micro and a few spread out on the panel. Spread around and buff off. Use 2nd micro to get streak free. 8hr cure. Can be applied to dry or wet vehicle but dry supposed to net better/longer protection. Seems like a good one but I`ve heard 30-60 days. I`d say 60 is garage queens and 30 would be outside 24/7 DD.

I finally finished this project. On to a really cool 1940 Jaguar soon.

Also got to test out my new iPhone XS camera. Supposedly it can blurr the background by taking a photo with both rear cameras with one focusing on the object and other the background. Pretty crazy!!

Brought a 2018 Diesel Chevy Colorado home a couple days ago. Spent a bit of time polishing out the hard water spots from when this truck has been sitting in the dealer lot. Still a little bit left. Truck only has 120 miles atm. B)

Managed to get both vehicles washed and dried today. The FK1000P appears to be holding up great.

Cleaned up my ‘02 Park Avenue Ultra daily driver with an ONR rinseless wash and Reload as a drying aid/topper this afternoon.

Thought about Ron every time I hit the trigger on the bottle of Reload . I usually mix Reload with ECH2O, but decided WTF I’ll try it straight this time.

Hope you’re doing ok Ron!

Washes in PA are soon going to be a thing of the past. Going to be ugly tonight and cold. Gave it a good wash followed by a good dry with 10 min. paint sealant. Wheels got Hydro blue. Engine got Sonax engine degreaser and Sonus motor kote.

Pulling my hair out over the mini van. Has some horrid waterspots from the owners well. Trying to be gentle as the pass side was repainted...which I found a massive run over the front tire...shined up it looks like a$$. Had to go to D166 and orange lc flats. Did use speed on the roof...no waterspots on the horizontal panels but all over the verticle...makes no sense to me but whatever. Will have pics when finished.

Water spotting is always a pain. Did you try an acid based wheel cleaner like megs wheel brightener? Give it a try on the hard spots it should help remove them.

Finally got around to putting a coating on my new car today. First time I’ve had free time and good weather at the same time since I bought it in March. Started today but ran out of daylight, so will finish tomorrow. Did a finishing polish with the rotary and WG finishing glaze. Applied first coat of Miyabi. Will apply the second tomorrow, as well as ISM coat. Can’t wait to see it in the sun. Pics to come.

Had some left over bottle caps so decided to test some left over coatings to see if they crystallize and how much product is left over once they do.

One thing I noticed so far is DLUX turned into a gel in about 20 mins as it’s hardening.

Cquartz Leather started to gel up in less than 5 mins.

detailed a friend`s 1999 ford f150. sits outside 24/7, so I had to fall back on my old school megs d151 on a orange lc pad. not the most durable finish, but still a good aio choice for older, neglected finishes.

Finished a quick maintenance wash on one of the cars. This one isnt coated and usually is what I test products on. I normally do a rinseless wash but got a new foam lance and decided to give it a shot. Worked great!

Used angelwax fast foam and megs hyper wash. LSP with Optimum car wax and then topped it with my fav ech2o/reload mixture.

Man I love this cooler weather for detailing. It`s just so nice not feeling like I`m gonna die from heat stroke.

Inspired by The Guz, poured some leftover IGL Quartz in a cap, 18hrs later it has kinda set up into a flexible little disc. Thickness-wise it reduced by a factor of 2 or 3, has a rubbery feel at this point. Can bend the disc pretty far, about 30 degrees before a crack (more like a tear) appeared. Will let it continue to harden (if it does) for a few days.

Immediately after pouring into cap/jar top:
