What did you do detailing wise today?

I slayed some hard water spotting with... ... Black Hole. Yep, I used Eraser afterward to make sure it worked, and it did, beautifully. Used a 4" CCS Black pad.

Of course, since I have CarPro Spotless, I tried that first. How can such a great company with class-leading products release such a turkey?

Been snowed in.. So did some test spots on my GQ. See how PA Presto holds up against paste wax and Good spray wax.
Plus tried GGs wax removal towels and oblong detail towels.

Waxaddict CandyGloss, CGs 5050 and WGs Fuzion Paste

This Fuzion spray wax stole the show ! Out performed all, in ease of use, slickness and gloss. 5050 was quite remarkable as well.
PA Presto held it`s own with these two, for a Detailer!

Fuzion paste wax was bland, and it stained my trim

These towels worked great, the white filled up quick, and the oblong one was the best, because it fit my hand
if I folded it for 4 surfaces. Great towels!

Letting her cure overnight and see if things change. Still not sure about the CandyGloss, hope it perks up. I like how it is whipped,
which makes it easy to get on the applicator and the paint. Kinda oily though.

Just came in from washing the Kia cee`d. The winter weather seems to be over for this time. Thought I would help when it`s time for polish and made a little decon with chemicals. There is still dried road salt on the roads so are waiting with the polishing and apply Polish Angel Master Sealant.

Started with foaming the paint with Bilt Hamber Surfex HD from the foamcannon. Clean rinsed from the bottom and work my way up.
Then it`s time for the tar degreaser on the lower side panels and the back of the car. It`s from a domestic company named Blue & Green and the product name is Wet Degreaser. It`s called cold degreaser and is based on mineral spirits and is low aromatic. And can be used on wet panels which is not common.
Blowed with the Ryobi 3000w leafblower away most of the water. So the iron remover had the best ability to be as effective as possible. We have alot of dubbed winter tires on the cars here in Sweden. And then my brake pads was finished. So it was alot of iron particals on the car even I did a iron removal last october. Sprayed it on and let it dwell for over 5min. And PW was used to rinse it off from the bottom and worked my way up.
Then a 2bm wash with carpro reset and multible wash mitts and pads. The new mf wash pads was awesome and holded alot of wash solution. Used one of the roof and the windows and one to the hood and the front without any problems. Then one each of the mf wash mitts to the sides and then one to the back and the rocker panels.
Blow dried with the Ryobi leafblower and then applied the Herrenfarth Sprüzglanss with 15% si+ in it. It`s a dream to apply it and a mf towel to spread it after sprayed it directly to the paint with the fine mist spray bottle it comes with. And a very thick buffing towel to buff it up. It has hold up very well even with the road grime and the chemical decon. The beading and sheeting was revived from the decon wash and was great after the 2bm wash with carpro reset. But the added gloss is very good when just applied and increase during 24 hours to get the kind of depth I like. The si+ what that know is are a very pleasant product to use. There is a special edition made for the detailing company I buy it from which has 25% of the si+ in it. It`s the same company that developed Polish Angel Viking Shield and had a finger in the devolopment of Viking Coat too.

Yesterday I prepared the summer wheels on the Ford Focus I maintain. And then the Nissan Navara as I also maintain. I did a decon wash and 2bm wash. Then applied the LSP with the foamcannon and the dilution is extreme low. 600ml of water and 30ml Krystal Kleen Details "Purity X". Let it dwell for a couple of minutes and then start to rinse with the PW were you started. Just rinse at an angle so the foam is on as long as possible. Purity X is a very versitale product to apply and is concentrated siloxane. 3-4 months longevity from the foamcannon and if diluted and apply like a sealant you get 6 months longevity. I applied it in october last year with the foamcannon and then washed only one time. It had still some parts of the truck that was beading and sheeting.

Started detailing a bigger, stronger, faster? trailer than my single axle 6x10 to try out a fresh batch of the new MK37 Marine/RV products. I didn`t plan on spending two days on it...but I underestimate the size and condition. It was super contaminated and felt like sandpaper. I`ll be back tomorrow to finish up.

Weather finally got nice enough today to do full wash after the long winter season. I noted last week that gloss and sheeting from Gloss Coat seemed to be gone. A thorough rinse with the PW, then a coat of Optimum FerreX, and a wash with CarPro Snow Foam really cleaned things up and brought back the shine. Tires got scrubbed with Megs Super Degreaser and treated with HD Dress. I started a test of Gyeon Wetcoat on the wheels on one side, and Hydrosilex on the other.

HUGE bird poop etch repair. I`ll spare you the full "before" shot, but the attached picture was after TWO soakings in Bird Sh#t Remover.

attachment.php

Here`s a not-so-good picture of the etching (shown accented with yellow lines) after I finally removed all the poo and then wiped it down with Spray & Wipe.

attachment.php

The bird poo was on the car for about 8 hours in the hot sun.

I Tried three things from non-aggressive to slightly aggressive:

  • Black Hole, to exploit it`s cleaning ability, with a 4" blue B&S pad, Eraser wipe downs (to erase any glaze effects). Big improvement, but would only go so far.
  • Blacklight, same method above, with maybe a 20% improvement, which IN SOME LIGHT made it look fixed, but not in certain angles/light.
  • Sonus Paintwork Cleanser with a 4" white flat B&S pad. FIXED

No after shots, but we all know what shiny paint looks like. ;)

Pulled the Corvette out of winter storage today and gave it a rinseless wash with D114. Followed up with some Cosmic Spritz to top up the PA Cosmic applied last year. After a fresh oil change will be all ready for the summer driving season!

After doing my truck Saturday, the wife left her car in the driveway Sunday and wondered when her car would get done. Same treatment as mine, rinse with PW, spray down with FerreX, then wash with Snow Foam. Paint and wheels treated with Wetcoat, the tires got HD Dress.
I may have got my first paid job. The neighbor came down and asked if I could do her daughter`s car before the lease turn in. Hopefully the weather holds put for Saturday

Watched Paul "the paulisher" paulish the paint on this 68 E Type while I fixed some paint runs.

I`ve been replacing my plastic shelving in my Detail supply/office room, with metal wire shelving and two are heavy duty with wheels. Added more drawers. New matching lights, as well as 2 of my corded 1000 lumen detail lights .
Plus a Computer/ Tablets/ Camera/ Bluetooth speaker station.
Much better flow and I have room to grow !
(Don`t even think of getting plastic shelves, a waste of money)

Did 2010 Jeep Wrangler with 49k miles this past weekend, never detailed, lots of swirl o`matic car washes they said, it showed few bumps an scratches, bad orange peel. Just wanted 1 step to clean it up and for sale if he gets what he wants. Wash, clay, Carpro essence on hdo orange pad, topped with ceramic wax, raggtopp cleaner an conditioner on top, WG exterior trim sealant, hyper dressing on tires. Basic interior detail.

detailed a neighbor`s 2016 gmc canyon. unfortunately, it sits outside 24/7, is not driven much, and was heavily contaminated. a wash, clay, and one step with hd speed brought it back. i was impressed with hd speed, very easy to use and leaves a nice finish.

Washed my frontier. Cant drive it much (needs a new timing chain and some other things) but I got tired of looking at it all water spotted from the rain a week ago.

Poorboys sss and did a panel wipe on the hood and added essence + via hand. I had it out for some work today on my SRT so I figured why not give it a go as stand alone lsp for my trucks hood.

Didnt bother with dressing the trim. The polish angel black bond and carpro dlux are already wearing off but still a little bit there on the plastics.
