Way more powerful than I was expecting. Has me considering waking up early to wash the car or truck now.

And i packed my rupes up into the bags

21 and mini fit in the duetto bag, will need a longer bag eventually as the 21 is a snug fit at the end.

Duetto in the autopia bag but the handle in the middle doesn`t help much with taking the tool out.

First time for me using Hydro 2, so i ended up either spraying a bit more than i should have, or letting it sit too long (i only waited 25-30 seconds)....so maybe according to the outside temperature/humidity i should`ve done less since it left some spots, but they buffed out fairly easily with a clean towel that was slightly damp from leftover water drops on the paint. Overall this stuff worked well and the owner was impressed with how easy it is and how long that bottle will last him.

Sounds like you either applied too much or didn`t rinse it off well enough worked in too big of an area (I`ve made all 3 mistakes myself lol).

Now I cut the car in sections for Hydro2. I`ll do the roof first, then the windshield, hood and front bumper, then the right side, or left side, then the rear. Also don`t be shy with blasting it with a strong stream of water for a long time. You really do need to blast it for awhile to prevent any streaks.

But the truck came out looking great. I love the shine Hydro2 leaves behind, and others must love it too because it`s sold out at the moment!

Had a busy afternoon yesterday. Decided that with the afternoon off I would do the annual paint correction and exterior detail on my car.

First up were the wheels and tires. Used DUB on the wheels and TUF Shine and D108 on the tires.

Here`s what I started with - nice clean water.

Heres what 2 week dirty tires and wheels will get you.

No shots of the wheels as of yet.

Next up: paint. Sprayed the entire car with IronX and some of the lower panels with TarX given all the paving going on in my hood. Hard to see it, because there wasn`t a whole lot of contamination. I think the coatings and frequent washing really help with that.

Then I foamed her up with IronX Foam.

After letting it dwell a bit, I got out the brushes and worked the crevices, emblems and door handles.

Lots of foamy run off during the "Aggressive" wash method.

Round one of cleaning done. Looks like the HD Speed held up pretty well with the iron X and IronX Foam.

Then I foamed it up with Mr Pink and used the speedy prep towel to do some physical decontamination. At times I had to break out the DP clay for the tar balls on the lower parts of the quarter panels.

Well, the HD Speed was hit hard by the claying and toweling. This video shows that it still sheets, albeit slowly & not much beading afterwards. I don`t think that`s such a surprise, but it does help to confirm that LSP really need more than just Dawn to strip...

My weapons of choice:

Taped up and ready to go... A little bit of swirling. A good deal of this is on the passenger rear doors. Damage inflicted by 3 and 4 feet high humans.

Polishes used:

HD Polish
Menzerna 3500
Rupes ultra fine
Rupes UHS

Pads:

Rupes UHS, yellow, white, green
LC Hybrid yellow and white

For those of you who haven`t used the UHS system, I`d say it`s really great and probably underrated.

Looking much better.

A little beak for dinner. Chicken, poblano, tomatillos, lime, cilantro, garlic, sour cream, seasoning and corn tortillas.

Went to finish off the car. The drivers side quarter panel was hit and run back in February. The guy who did the PDR did an amazing job, but the clearcoat suffered from the (I assume) wiping and instrumentation. Impact as well, of course.

Nothing HD Polish couldn`t handle.

Finished with the polish and basic wipe.

Tomorrow (which is today) I will do a quick wash with Rupes m101 using Everest 1100 GSM towels and prep with Gtechniq Panel Wipe before applying Gyeon Mohs Q2.

I got a ton of MF suede cloths that I`m going to cut up and use for the coating application.

I`ll follow that with Kamikaze Over Coat and I`ll have Cure as well for maintenance... Along with M808. Probably overkill...

I`m leaning more towards "applied too much" since I was using a PW and rinsed the sections off for several seconds. I did: hood,driver side fender to rear door then rinsed, then did roof with quarter panel and tailgate and then repeated with passenger side. It was pretty sticky and warm outside, and it being a large truck I bet I should have worked smaller sections as well.

It wasn`t a big deal nor did it affect my opinion on the product, stuff is like straight up witchcraft haha, you just see the water behavior transform immediately and one half of the truck nearly sheet dried itself when I was doing the other side. Definitely a time saver especially since the owner does not like to hand apply and buff out paste waxes/sealants.

Detailing-wise, my boss had me clean a 7er that they bought from a customer, I spent an hour and a half blowing dirt from every crevice and all carpet, it`s still not clean enough.

Washed my car with Rupes m101 to get rid of the dust that accumulated over the night.

Then I coated the car with Gyeon Mohs Q2 and Kamikaze Over Coat, restored the trim with PB and dressed the tires.

Man, the coating process takes way too long. I am really considering going back to sealants!

My ex-coworker got himself a bottle of Hydro 2 so he wanted to bring his truck for me to give him a demo on application . I had done an AIO polish with HD Speed on this vehicle a few months ago and gave him a list of things to buy to keep it looking sharp. I asked him if he`s been keeping up with the proper techniques and he said he got lazy and impatient with the 2 buckets and careful wipes so he went back to doing quick sloppy washes :mellow:.... in his defense he said he`ll bring it back to me for more business once it gets screwed up.

It left a really nice shine on the surface.

didn`t bother with the wheel wells since he just wanted a quick wash for the purpose of the demo. Wheels and tires(previously dressed with PERL) cleaned up by just pressure rinsing them off.

a quick question.. are u dressing all that vinyl ??
