What did you do detailing wise today?

Hey Al, where are you getting AF Avalanche from? The place in New Jersey? I missed the boat on picking up Avalanche when AG carried it. I will say, Chemical Guy's Citrus Wash & Gloss impressed me with it's dried up salt/ road grime removing abilities.

Yes but I got it a while back. I typically use CW&G at 1 oz per 2 gallons or so and does a great job in cleaning.

I probably need to do a side by side. Avalanche did not remove all the sticky crud on the lower sides but did better than pressure wash rinse alone.

After driving 4 hours round trip to my "local" VA hospital I decided to wash my wife's car. I used Hydro2lite on her car a month ago and happily report the Hydro2 is beading and sheeting just as well as it did when first applied. I tried out some Carpro Reset soap in my foam gun and had an amazing amount of thick suds. The directions say to use 400 to 1 ratio soap to water so I used less than I normally do and still was very happy with the suds. Carpro really has some winners. I encourage anyone who hasn't used the Carpro line to do so. Their stuff is great.

did you spray and rinse? I'm tempted to try my hydro2lite as spray on wipe off
I thought it needed the water to change the properties of the silica from hydrophillic to hydrophobic?

I can try this today actually for you..fixing to wash the frontier since i have the day off.

I use hydro2 as spray and wipe or spray and rinse, either or works I feel like the spray and wipe lasts longer but tends to look a little streaky haze till first wash (i think it takes a full day to cure all the way out as it does it seems to re haze up). I dilute it in between 5/1 and 7/1 depending on how much is left over in the spray bottle when i remix new batch. I like higher dilution so I can use more sprays per panel when I do spray and rinse. I like doing 3-4 sprays per door or quarter panel (4-6 hood and roof) then rinse then check for missed spots usually need 1-2 more sprays you can see where it is not applied by the beading characteristics.

Do you spray it on a dry or wet panel and wipe? I was thinking i would need to spray it on a wet panel and wipe it off so it could react with the water.

Just finished drying my truck, willing to give this a shot

Today I'm watching a blizzard blow in..So I'm on the Internet and found out about 2 new Flex machines coming out soon, an improved 3401 without the bale handle, & a 15mm free spinning DA. I was looking for a new machine, gotta find out more !

looks like the spray and wipe method was more hydrophobic too. I'm curious at all the different ways hydro2 and hydro lite can be used vs reload

Weather man said it might be the last decent day for awhile. So normal wash/interior was done. Finished with a much under rated product. ECO TOUCH SPRAY WAX. This is a good product. Never streaked or caused me issues. And left a really nice finish. It will stay clean for a day. Tires got CG VRP.

Wash gonna do a rinseless on the Ram but with snow forecast tomorrow night I just couldn't pull myself to do it.

Just did a quick Vac and wipe down with Megs QID

Rinseless wash and cleaned the interior. Painted the letters on the wheels and front emblem.

Finished polishing my 4th BBS RS for my VW Mk1 Rabbit. Adams Metal Polish 1 and 2 on the lip and hex cap. Used Meguiars D156 on the baskets. Any suggestion on a sealant that works on the bare polished rim?

Also washed the STi the other night at a coin op. Used DP Wash Wax with foam wedge. Then topped with Meg D156. Can't wait for spring to finally get to detail this properly.

Ooooo nice blue. Did you stick with the stock STi rims? I'm considering the WRX to replace my DD but don't like the WRX's dark grey stock rims at all.

Mine is the special edition Hyper Blue. It came with gloss black forged BBS 18's. I'm gonna use the stocks for this summer. I picked up a set of forged BBS EvoX wheels before winter for a winter wheel.

My dad has a 15' WRX with stock 17's. They look very 'Toyota'ish. They don't fit the car. Are you referring to those?
My brother in law got a 16' WRX a few months back, his came on 18's and they look much better on the car.

The spoke pattern I'm ok with, it's the dark color I'm not a fan of. I much prefer silver rims. Personal preference.

Looking forward to seeing more photos of your Hyper Blue STi!!
