What did you do detailing wise today?

Just got the loan for this. Going to pick it up this weekend. Found out it was paint corrected and coated. Front bumper needs a reprint but that`s about it.

It`s a 92 LX 5.0 with a On3 Performance turbo kit. Has some suspension work done.

Ron don`t tell my dad. He doesn`t know yet.

How easily did it spread on the tires, and what type of applicator did you use?

(Sent via my mobile device...)

I used just a 3" wax pad on velcro holder, went on easy.
That was on my DD last weekend and it`s almost off. I will have to try something else.
I put Preserve on the trim, that still looks deep dark. Maybe attaches to the texture of the vinyl ??

Maybe you had something on the tires already that prevented decent bonding. Preserve has lasted a good month with deep rich slightly shiny satin look on my interior vinyl. I actually like it there.

I could be different, but I have been fairly disappointed with most tire coatings and sealants except TW.

I`m fairly certain preserve was designed for plastic and vinyl and not rubber. I don`t have the bottle in front of me. It does work really well on the interior.

I know many won`t approve. I`ve personally been de-badging vehicles for years. That said, I felt like this truck looked like a big Kelvinator Refrigerator. Too much white. I put the stripes on today, Ford Tremor style. Worse case scenario is that I take them off. Anyway... here`s a before and after. Sorry for the scale, had trouble with my pic editor, got tired of playing with it.

Thanks folks, been on the fence for weeks about this. Have had the stripes for a couple of weeks just getting up the nerve. It`s supposed to sit in the sun for a couple of days for the vinyl to breathe and become completely flat. You simply cannot or at least I could not squeegee all of the application soapy water out. So it`s been sitting outside in the sun, neighbors probably think I`m showing it off but the sun/heat makes these stripes look like they`re factory installed, they really look good. I`ve had a couple of neighbors text/comment saying they like it. This and your comments is helping me make sure that I do. Sway bar and larger intercooler on the next to do list. ;)

Hope this gives you relief then.

The directions said I was supposed to use one part original Dawn (just went to my car wash supplies, I`m kiddin` :)) to a gallon of water. Heck, that explains why they didn`t move around as easily as I expected. ;)
