What did you do detailing wise today?

Worked on my `16 Nissan Rogue DD, she has red metal flake paint. Wanted to see the metal flake better, so I used a Glaze.
First up a good wash, winter is showing it`s bluster.

After a blow dry. I tried this

Did the hood, with some difficulty, it dried like cement.
Wasn`t able to remove all without using a swirl light to check, even then I missed some.
With the whole truck left to do, I decided to try out this

And PBs to the rescue yet again!
This product was the opposite in application of WG.
Easy, fast, no worries. The look gave the metal flake
Front row viewing, POP !

I was going for WG synergy and since that was now lost,
I tried another LSP instead

This is Black ice 3" in on left with CG`s XXX on right 3"

Black ice felt very slick and looked deep, like many layers.
The XXX had some drag, not as deep, could tell it was
1 layer.
Upon applying Black ice, it at times seemed dry, might
Mix it up next time. There was static cling. That remains
On the paint.
But ohh what a fantastic layer of sealant And wax,
so brilliant, thick & sick slick. Great combo,
PBs White Diamond with BF Black Ice !!

I just trashed my trim, so Sun. Morn. Is clean & seal my
Trimmin`s day.
BF AIO,T&TP. Also a very nice product.

One last thing about Black Ice, when I drove around town, with the salty roads, the dust was attracted to the paint, the static cling.

I had noticed any special static cling by BF Black Ice but suspect you have a lot of fine salt around.

I had noticed any special static cling by BF Black Ice but suspect you have a lot of fine salt around.

Every one in town has the salt powder, on the paint,
but mine has BF so the salt is not sticking, some blows off because of the super slick surface

23 Degrees when i started, warmed up to about 30ish by the time I started sealing it thankfully,I was worried it was going to be too cold to seal it. Collinite 845 behaved flawlessly, applied as thin as ever. RW,Nanoskin Red Sponge with RW+WW mixed together as lube, Carpro Eraser, Collinite 845 then D156. Headlights touched up with HD Speed on LC Orange Pad then topped with 845( pass. side needed M105+Yellow heavy cut pad then finished w/Speed).

This car is in great shape. Gonna do a decon wash just to make sure everything is good, clay what needs it and do a light polish to get whatever LSP is on it off and then coat it with CSL tomorrow.

Looked at it under a light and didn`t see any swirls at all.

1/2 way through applying the x-pel headlight kit onto my new headlights. Making a small appearance change to the grand prix.

It`s been a while! I have to check if I shared the Lexus detail. Well he showed it off to one of his friends and one of them wanted some of my magic on his cars. A Lexus sedan and a Dodge. Started today on the Dodge. He originally wanted wash, clay and wax, and engine detail, and carpet shampooing. I showed him a test spot and he decided to have the exterior worked on instead of the interior.

Here`s the reflection. Or lack thereof.

This little fin was the perfect victim for a test spot.

He saw this and decided it would be worth it for a paint correction.

Whoops. Never underestimate the client. I thought he would consider it in the future. I brought a MF cutting pad I won (it`s convenient to the plot because I actually needed it right now) and a megs foam finishing disc. Oh well adapt and overcome. I had to wash this pad and quickly learned that you can`t dry it with a MF towel. I bet this is on the forum or one of KB`s moves. Fill just above the grit guard, clean the pad, attach it and turn it on while its in the bucket. After its dry, continue.

Hood complete. To be continued tomorrow.

Well I`ll be depositing a check for the repair of major paint scratches that occurred to a friends ride a while back that the city payed for as it was their tree trimmers that left the branches sticking in the road
