What did you do detailing wise today?

The girlfriend bought a new car today. Decided to see what it needed to be corrected and coated. Used a Lake country thin white foam pad with M205. Gets it pretty good for a daily driver. Debating on trying to polish it this week after work and coat it with WG Uber ceramic or wait till after the new year and coat it with Crystal Serum Light, and just throw a coat of Black Hole on it for now.

Ultimate paste on my car.

-So $60 is too much for a wash and wax, but you tip your waiter $50 bucks to bring you a plate of food??

thanks jaddie. i think the car pro essence really makes a big difference. it`s getting to be one of my favorites, even if topped with wax or a sealant.

ultimate paste wax is often overlooked, but it`s pretty decent stuff.:bigups

It actually has Megs sealant 2.0 on it from a few months ago. I topped it with ultimate today mainly so people would see me waxing and want theirs done

Got a bottle of csl here, if you replace it when you get yours if you want to finish it earlier.

Thanks for the offer. I won`t be up until it`s time to give her car back. Just gonna put some jetseal on it to last another month or so.

How hard is it to apply the gloss coat and to screw it up

And how many cc did you use on that

Gloss-Coat is EZPZ. You just need time, good lighting, CarPro Suede towels and a respirator (I hate breathing in chemical smells due to asthma). I do two panels at a time, then go back to the first one to knock down the high spots/streaks. Gloss-Coat gives you a lot of wiggle room until the coating streaks are cured too long to buff off with a soft towel. I`ve done the entire car before, cleaned up....came back for a final inspection and still had enough time to find a high spot/streak to buff off.

I`ll have to check to see how much I used. I didn`t actually check since I had a 20cc syringe and planned on coating 2 cars on Sunday but that black paint beat me up. I`m sure I used less than 10cc`s, but I`ll give you an exact number later.

Thanks I`m supposed to do a Saab suv (Chevy trailblazer version) and I`m comparing different coatings as he wants a ceramic coating on it

The best I can get and do he said

It is super easy to apply. One of the easiest coatings I have applied.

I have tried both the suede applicators and the included foam applicator. I actually prefer the blue foam applicator. If prepped as shown it is much easier to use and more comfortable to hold than using the suede applicator and block.

It is also recommended to apply opti-seal 1 hour after the last coat of gloss coat to protect gloss coat from chemical etching and water spotting during the 7 day curing window. One coat of gloss coat is sufficient but I personally like to apply 2 coats of gloss coat followed by 1 coat of opti-seal.
