What did I do wrong? (clear plastic)

I had some scuffs on the soft plastic of my Lexus OEM radio so I decided to use some PlastX on it to buff out the scratches. Needless, to say... it removed the scratches, but added all new light hairline scuffs. I applied the product with a blue Viking microfiber (labeled as Viking drying towel... short and long nap) Could my applicator be the issue? Would Plexus be a good option to cover up my mistakes?

try it again with a foam applicator. You may need to do it a few times though.....

Should I use pressure on such a soft plastic? I think that might have contributed to my initial problem as well

follow it up using the foam applicator, you should use light pressure because you already got the majority of the defects out.



you can follow up with some M-10 plastic polish, if there are some minor clarity issues

OK so back and forth motions with a dab of PlastX on a foam applicator. The plastic on the HU is so soft that if you rub anything across the surface, even lightly... it causes marks. I heard on the Megs forum that the PlastX should be rubbed in extensively like ScratchX... :think: I thnk I am going to do a gentle once-over and if that doesnt do the trick, I'll go at it a little harder.
