What color is your next new vehicle going to be?

I am debating this right now. I have it down to three colors.

Yellow, Black or silver.

Yellow and Black are the front runners with silver being a third choice. I think it ultimately result in what I can find in those colors (I can't afford and won't buy brand new).

By the way...any one interested in a 1996 speed yellow Porsche 911? :D

I'm kind of hanging in limbo between 3 colors myself bet993, black (hard to beat when it's detailed), red (flashy, sporty, exciting color), or silver (nice classy look and like Scottwax mentioned, looks "clean" even when dirty) Decisions decisions!:D

Jake,

My thoughts exactly.

Black - incredible, awesome unbeatable (maybe:D ) when clean - however instantly gets dirty and then the car looks average at best.

Yellow - my flashy, sporty color (like red). Definitely an attention getter, there is no blending in with the crowd, which is a double edged sword.

Silver - The reliable color as I like to call it. Always looks good never looks bad. Can look sporty but at the same time elegant and classy. Never looks out of place but can lack the pizzazz of other two.

I have a Silverstone Grey car, and it always looks decent. It hides swirls and dirt even better than silver, IMO.

But I'd pick white. I miss the Alpine White of my old Bimmer. Pepper White is a nice replacement...

:p

Dark colors for small cars and whites and silvers for large vehicles.

I think it depends to some degree on the "size" of the car. I would not want a large truck or car that was black because it really would take a lot of time to keep it looking great. However, if I had a little Miata convertible then black would be a no brainer. I got my wife a white SUV and use Klasse because it takes a lot less effort to keep it looking great. Last summer I got myself a graphite pearl (dark grey) 2003 Accord Coupe and although I have Klasse on it for the winter I can't wait to go carnauba this spring. Since it is smaller I can do S100 every time I wash if I want to in about 30 minutes.

Isn't Silver more susceptible to fading than most colors? Or, has clear coating remedied that problem?

I too had the same question of whether or not to get a silver or black for my next vehicle...with all the knowledge gained here, I should be able to take care of a black car...however, I recently ended up opting for the silver due to my daily driver usage...

I have never experienced any problems with silver fading. However, I have experienced some fading on red. The faded red though has been from cars from the 80's and usually are neglected. I think in color can suffer fading problems when not cared for properly, especially in areas like New Mexico and Arizona. I have relatives in Arizona and it always amazes me to see vehicles that are notorious rust machines in central Indiana where I am originally from that are driving around Phoenix with absolutely no rust but with virtually no color.
