Hey guys,
I am looking at getting some CG stuff soon (cleaner, swirl removers, wax, sealents, QD's) and there is so much stuff that they offer. What stuff do you guys recomend?
Thanks

I use their Butter Wax, Revive Glaze & Polish, Brilliance Spray Glaze, Pink Detail Spray, Pink Car Wash i think it is called Maxi Suds II. If all these name sound familiar there is a reason for that.

I'm sure a lot of people use Chemical Guys stuff, they just don't know it...

As for explicitly labeled CG stuff, I am still a virgin.

I'm hoping this thread could stay on topic and not stray to the xxx is the same as yyy and zzz. I would also like to hear peoples opinions on these products aswell. If the products are any good and with the prices being decent this company with a variety of products may be a good addition to someones arsenal.

All the products i listed are top notch in my opinion. And i have been using them for awhile now. I just recently found CG and am so glad i did it is saving me a ton of money by purchasing direct from them.

Screw what is on the label. Put my Pepsi in a glass or a bottle or a can and it is still Pepsi. The only way to know what you think about their products is to buy them and use them. I don't care who they contract with to make products. I just care about what the product will do to enhance and perfect the appearance of my car.

I use:
Banana Wet Wax (think that is what it is called) - it goes on easily and comes off easily while leaving a nice shine. I don't think it has great durability though. When I just want to put something on the car for my own fun, this is what i use. If you want to try some, I could send you a sample as I have a gallon.
SMART Wax - good stuff. Like the one above but has some more durability. As a side note, seeing as it is pink, it is easy to put on a light colored car as you can see where it goes
Magic Seal - didn't really impress me
Pink Detailer - good stuff, very economical as a clay lube
Leather Cleaner and Conditioner - VERY good. The cleaner is light but works well on new leather
Sealant with Carnuba 3X - good stuff although I like the variation on this that someone else sells better for some reason

I have a bunch of other stuff from them to try out. I will try to write some real reviews when time allows.

They actually do sell a sampler kit, with smaller bottles of the product in it. Or you could go in with a few friends and order some supplies and divvy them out. And if you look, they have some of their product for sale in 16 ounce bottles (it does, however, cut into the price savings of buying the larger qtys.). It never hurts to call and ask.

As far as products I have used goes: Express Wax Instant Brilliance Spray Wax, Extreme Top Coat Paint Sealant, Revive Glaze and Polish, Lazer Buff Scratch & Swirl Remover, Extreme Synthetic Spray Detailer, Detail Spray (pink), Maxi Suds II, & the Extreme VRT Dressing.

Most of what I have tried has performed well. Some stuff has a lot of similarities to other products that you have probably tried already. The only way to know is to try it out and see for yourself.

If you look carefully at the labels on some of the products on CG's site. you are not buying Chemical Guys, you are buying from Warner Chemical. CG didn't even have the label changed. :whistling
See for yourself.

Yes this is true but what i think is interesting is that the CG barely mark the product up over what Warner actually sells for. That alone earns my business becasue theya re not trying to stick it to you. They are selling things for around 1.00 more than what the Warner site sells thing for.

Danase will be carrying 16oz. bottles of CG stuff soon. Plus there's the two sampler kits on the website (Bence pointed out one of them).

Jared--would you mind elaborating on your thoughts about Extreme VRT, Maxi-Suds II, and Express Wax Instant Brilliance Spray Wax? Thanks.

Sure, I wouldn't mind.

Extreme VRT: Pretty good dressing in my opinion. Leaves a nice dark, matte finish. It's a thin lotion-type product, and I have applied it with several different applicators, the best results coming from an EO tire swipe/foam app. Pretty decent longevity, but water knocks the fresh sheen off. It's similar to Adam's VRT, but in my opinion I think the Adam's VRT is a bit thinner (at least the last I got from Adam's was pretty thin/watery, but it still worked fine).

Maxi-Suds II: Pretty nice car wash. I think after I'm done with it I'll probably not buy any more. It suds up nicely in a bucket, and seems to last quite a while. It also seems pretty "lubey", but not as slick as some others I have tried (namely 4 Star's Ultimate Wash Shampoo). Since I have began experimenting with other wash methods, I have yet to try this product to see how it would perform in a foam gun.

Express Wax Brilliance Spray Wax: I don't really like this, but then again I wouldn't personally consider it a wax either. Adam's has the Brilliance Spray Glaze, which this product is very similar to. I have never gotten consistent results out of either product, and I personally feel that it doesn't really add that much in the area of looks. I probably won't use it much. It's very thin, and seperates quickly. Also, if applied too heavy, it's a pain to get off.

Hope that helps out a bit. Feel free to ask any more questions. :)

I can elaborate on the Spray Glaze a bit I personally love this stuff and feel it adds a bit more shine after the Revive Polish Step has been completed. It has no protection at all though and should be followed with a coat of Butter Wax or what ever wax you plan to use. As for application I use a MF covered sponge and simply mist a light coat on the sponge and then apply it to my truck. Let haze and then it wipes right off also if you spray your MF towle with a bit of the detail spray prior to removal it helps get stuff off.. It also work great on windows and chrome giving a great shine to both of those as well. I myself think all the CG products are identical in very faucet as Adam's. Which is why i am now buying from CG.

As for the VRT I myself do not really like it much it is almost a lotion type consistency and is a pain to apply and I do not like the result it gives. I prefer and have been using the Meguiars Rubber and Vinyl Cleaner for years and haven't found anything i like better
