What causes swirls? Pics for answers

I've recently picked up a new client that loves black cars and has a ton of them. He told me in February he purchased 45 tags in total (cars, truck, boats, and trailers). I was going to his house this past Sunday to do his truck and his wife's denali. When I arrived I noticed one of his workers (feeds animals, cleans yard, trashman, etc.) washing the 2007 black denali. I approached him and told him I was here to do it and he said he was very sorry and would love to let me finish. He was just trying to help my client out since he was done w/ the yard. After he left I couldn't believe he washing techinque. I know see how someone can put such bad swirls in paint. Here are some pics for you enjoyment or torture.

When I have a client that argues about my pricing.....I will show them this!!!

Thanks for posting this!

Looks like pretty good technique to me...

Nice soapy bucket, nice ratty kitchen towel with leaves stuck in it....

NOT.

haha, thats pretty bad. Not as bad as my neighbor who washes his new Vette with a shop brush, that he sets on the ground between scrubbings, but close.

I would hate to ask what kind of soap he was using? You need to inform the customer that his help might be good at yard work but, should stay away from his rides and leave the washing / detailing to you. Mike...

That's what was really crazy! He actually had a gallon of Duragloss soap. The owner must of bought it.
