What brand of MF detergent do you like?

Overall look?

Overall level of cleaning with some visual inspection. My friend Bret will be helping so we will get two opinions.

FWIW and after the fact, I bought a gallon of MicroPak last time. I just did a round-numbers comparo; I commend you on looking into the comparative pricing more thoroughly. It works the same as MicroRestore, at least under my conditions.

I felt bad not going to Ranney but he gets enough of my business ;) and I love a deal. Hard to beat CMA's price. Ranney has some new products coming out soon so I will give him some business shortly.

I may do a big Charlie's order as well since I have two friends that I can in on it with. But I want to see how it performs on my MF first. :)

For washing MF, I prefer Charlie's soap, but Tide Free works just as well. I like Charlie's soap b/c of its versatility of being able to use as an APC and I like it as a hand cleaner as well. I've used the Pinnacle detergent, and it honestly did no better than anything else i've used.

FWIW, I've noticed no difference in performance b/w the Laundry Liquid and the APC. I'd say the APC is probably more economical though.

I'll be the first to say that if somebody doesn't realize a functional difference, then they oughta just go by price and convenience. Funny how there are such widely varying results, but I'm sure not gonna suggest that people can't tell how well a detergent works for them.

Wonder how the Charlie's APC would compare to the 5 gallon price of the laundry detergent  Not that I'm gonna need any more for a long, long time.

Perhaps the X-factor in all of this is the water. I gotta believe that there is a whole lot of variation in water quality/composition.

It would seem logical that certain detergents would work better with certain water sitauations.

Very well could be wrt hardness/softness...another might be that some did not try all the detergents under similar conditions with similarly dirty towels.

Yeah, though it doesn't seem to explain *everything*. I use conditioners ("softeners", and I experimented with their settings) and filters and while these measures help a lot, I still can't get the exact results that some people have predicted.

Even the type of washer must not explain it all, I have two different types, both highly rated, and have used others enough for comparison's sake.

I pondered this stuff so long and hard I finally got sick of thinking about it and decided to adapt a black-box perspective on things like detergent/softeners/etc.- as long as I'm happy with the end result, well, I'm happy.
