When I bought my new Accord 2 years ago, many at dealership told me to only use Amoco or Chevron gasoline, as it was cleaner and "better" for Honda's. I blew them off and bought whatever was cheapest..........recently my gas pedal started sticking, so I took the car into the dealership. They fixed the problem, but suggested I use the "proper" gasoline so the pedal would not stick again.

I have heard for years that Amoco was the best gasoline available, and worth the extra 3 to 6 cents extra a gallon. Any opinions on this??????

I personally prefer shell or sunoco, shell for their midgrade gas and sunoco because they're the only place I've found with 94 octane premium. :up

sunoco here all of my cars have run the best on it , love the 94 octane too , I live close to a race track so they have 102 octance also , gotta love that ever once in a while.

whatever is close and relatively inexpensive.. however, I stay away from anything that is not a major brand station.. unless I dont have a choice..

Hey, some people like Coke, some like Pepsi, right? I work in advertising and marketing, so I am part of the problem.

But I hate to break it to you: gasoline is gasoline is gasoline. I know many executives in the industry in marketing, so trust me. Yes, higher octane is better for high-compression engines, but that's about it.

Research indicates that over 90% of gasoline purchasers are loyal to one station: the one most convenient to them.

I use Mobil super unleaded, this seems to burn the best in my Jetta. When I had a cavalier it was what ever was the cheapest or the I nearest to when the gauage read empty. When I had a caprice, I used Mobil, because anything else and the car pinged.

I have few choice in my area, Mobil, Sunoco, Coastal, and Hess.

I don't believe there are any Sunoco's here in Eastern Missouri....otherwise the Bimmer would be getting 94:up

I guess I use Exxon, 7-11, Mobil, whatever is closest when I need to fill up.......I agree that Gas usually is Gas, but I had always heard some places water their gas down....don't know how true it is....maybe just an old wives tale. Rock on...........

There are about 7 gas stations within a 2 mile radius of where I live. Regardless, I still go with BP/Amaco. Why? Don't laugh, but the attendants at the BP/Amaco station are more careful with my car than compared with anyone else. (I live in New Jersey, so our only option is full serve.) The two local Exxon/Mobil stations spill gas all over the side of the car. They even tried to wipe off the gasoline with a dirty rag... :nixweiss

I use Texaco mostly. Although after reading about some gas tests, it appears Chevron's gas was the 'best', followed by Texaco and then Exxon.

Now that Texaco and Chevron are merging they're gonna keep with Chevron's 'formula'.

So, jcatt.. gasses aren't ALL the same. I guess it's in the additives.

Same here. Several stations in my area are having a major price war and premium (usually 92 or 93 octane) is $1.39 right now.

I use Chevron mainly, but Mobil if I can't find a Chevron. I carry both of their CCs.

More importantly, what I've found out is, that they're ripping us off price wise here in California. Scottwax says he pays $1.39 for premium in TX. I just got gas yesterday and paid $1.70 for Chevron premium (which is the least expensive Chevron station around).. But then again, it was like 65 degrees at 3 o'clock, we have to be cursed with something.

I usually use shell but it is sooo expensive compared to other places.

If I'm out by SAM's then I'll fill up with their gas as it usually is the cheapest around.

I sometimes will go to Danny and Clyde's to fill up but mainly because I also want to pick-up a shrimp sub. :D

I tend to use either Shell or Mobil/Exxon in the Maximas. Before the Maximas, I had a Caprice and would run whatever I felt like at the time (as long as it was 93 Octane) and found that the Mobil lasted the longest out of the ones I used (e.g. Shell, Amoco, Citgo, Clark, Speedway).
