I wanna know what polish anyone on here would recommend for swirl removal. I've heard many good things about Poorboy's SSR and Menzerna polishes.

What do you guys think?

Poorboys work really good but tend to dust. My go to polish line is Optimum. The Optimum doesn't dust and can be worked in longer than most polishes. Menzerna is very popular on here too.

I think you will be happy with any of the three that were

talked about above

I have only use the ssr and yes it does dust some but it works well

I have the LC 7".5" CV pads..I use them with my Makita and PC..as long as the poster upgrades his Counter weight on his PC the pads work just fine..

Check this link to see if these are the LC pads that would be recommended. Thanks.

Those would be them... the durability of these are 10x better than most other pads...

My other products I like:

Wash- NXT

Clay- No comment... the good stuff is gone

Polish PC- Poorboys SSRs

Polish Rotary- Optimum

Sealant- UPP, Wolfgang, Poorboys EX-p, Klasse SG

Wax- Natty's or P21S (S100)

Spray wax- OCW

Glass cleaner- Invisible Glass

Interior Protectant- Megs #40, PB Natural Look

Tire Shine- Megs Hot Shine

Wheel Cleaner- Eagle 1 Tire and Wheel Cleaner

Waterless wash- PB Spray and Wipe

Those are most of the products that you'd see me using the most...

Menzerna polishes are on my first to grab list.

Changing the counter weight has no change on the operation with various pads. The PC CW was designed for using sand paper discs and not foam pads.

7.5" pads on a PC will bog the machine down to much to be affective. The counter weight wont make any difference.

Not true at all! 7.5" is all I use and the results I get is far from unaffective. Getting a 6" counterweight over the stock 5" with the 7424 WILL be better for the machine.

Again, untrue.

From:

Porter-Cable Car Polisher / Sander Facts

"If you change the pad size you must also change the counterweight or suffer unnecessary vibration and possible damage to the tool."

"There are two different counter-weights which are clearly marked to indicate use with either the 5" or 6" backing pad"

You use a 6" backing plate with the LC 7.5" pads and need a 6" counter weight to compensate for that.

I think i'm just gunna stick with the 6" counter weight in the 7424. Would that not work with a 7.5" pad?

I thought that the 7424 came with a 6" counterweight. I thought the older model came with a 5" counter weight.

That would be fine indeed... as long as you don't mind using speed 6... which will give you no problems at all. With the 7.5" pads you need to get a 6" backing plate which means you also need a 6" counter weight (7424 comes with a 5").
