What are the MUST OWN CleakKote products?

I usually mix VM and RMG to make Pink Moose and use a polishing pad. Also works well via rotary with the 3M Ultrafina pad.

Thanks, Scott. I'll pick up a bottle of Blue Moose on the next order.

Here is what I ordered from Danase:

RMG

VM

QS

Moose Wax

*Oh yea, even though this is a ClearKote thread, I also picked up a bottle of DWG. :D

I'd also add Blue Moose if you have single stage paint. It eats oxidation like nothing else I've ever used.

Clearkote has a really strong line-up of solid performers. :)

Question, Scott.

When you make the Pink Moose, are you simply mixing equal parts of of VM and RMG?

DAMN

IT!!!!

I totally meant to order that. Poop on a stick! :furious:

Call em before it ships?

Looks like he's out anyway. you cannot add CMW to the cart.

You also can't add VM? So either you got the last one or something is fubar?

I just looked at Danase's site, and now I remember why I didn't order it...it must be out of stock, because the button to add it to the cart isn't available. Neither was VM, so I had to order it from another seller.

Ah.

Well let us know how you like them. :) I'm thoroughly confused by their naming.

If Yellow Moose Cream Wax is indeed a wax then why is it suggested to top with a wax?

etc etc.

Thanks, Fluxy. I just emailed Bob to see if he's really out. I said IF he had it, just add it onto my order. Oh well, I'll definitely order the next time around.

Damn, I guess I am missing out on the CMW, if that's Scott's go-to wax. I'll see if I can find it elsewhere.

specialtymotoring.com (ScottP) has all of it, it seems. There's even a 10% off discount code to boot ;)

It seems RMG is a predecessor to VM. If I had to order I'd get

RMG

QS

CMW

I don't see the point in VM or YMCW with that combo.

That's where I got the VM. I'll email them and tell them to add the CMW, if possible.

if you are going to add CMW, just have Scott change the order to this:

ClearKote Killer Combo

It's VM, CMW and some MF towels. Add the 10% discount code and you are golden. :goodjob

Your total is 38 for the two, or 43 for the two + 3 towels and 2 applicatorss. Take another 10% off either one.

$34.20 (VM and CMW after discount)

$38.70 (kit after discount)

So you are paying 4.50 for 3 towels and a MF and Foam App.. Shazzam!

Very nice work, Fluxy! Do I have you on the payroll and just not know it?

I really appreciate the research, my friend!!! Thanks!:bow

You don't hear or read too much about the Yellow Cream Wax, but I'd equate it to more of a glaze than a wax since it contains polishing oils but no chemical or abrasive cleaners. It's not a must have from ClearKote, but it does add some depth and slickness.

The CK products I definitely reccomend:

VM: a great glaze that has very mild abrasives to clean things up a bit. Use your PC and apply it to everything: paint, rubber (trim), and glass.

RMG: another great glaze with some chemical cleaners and a bit more depth than VM. Some like to mix the VM and RMG but I find them such a pleasure to use that I just top VM with RMG.

CMW: one of the better and more affordable waxes on the market. It has great depth and wetness that comes close to paste Souveran.

Quik Shine (QS)
: a great QD that even seems to work better than Rain-X on a windshield.

A couple of years ago I did the whole CK treatment to my street rod: VM, RMG, YCW, and CMW. A few days later we were at a hotel parking lot for a car show and my friends wife, who was sitting between our cars, mentioned that my car looked wet. I've never heard her describe a car that way before or since.
