What are the best AIO's out there?

I think you misunderstood my point, or maybe I left the wrong impression. Just because the ZAIO hazed some plastic, that doesn't mean it'll do the same thing to *paint*. Mild abrasives usually just make products more user-friendly; they're almost functionally nonabrasive on paint and aren't anything to worry about.

I can't imagine any paint *of a healthy thickness* that the ZAIO would be too much for. I have some very soft ss black that's too thin for *any* abrasives (the window surrounds on the MPV), but other than that I'd use ZAIO on anything I have (including the thin ss lacquer on the Jag).

Sorry I gave you an unintended concern.

I used some ZAIO on the black plastic parts of the A8's sideview mirrors and I *REALLY* scratched 'em up

:doh I read right past that part. All I could think of was how often I've read that your Audi has hard paint. Then for me to think that you said it was scratched by ZAIO.......:soscared:

Thanks for the clarification.

I have heard a lot about Werkstatt's Prime. I think I might try it out. A couple quick questions on the product:

1) Does it dust?

2) Can it be worked in the sun?

3) Any advice on PC application technique on how to best use it?

Thanks!

Prime Strong is AMAZING! We had really good results with it the other day!

1)A little bit

2)dont know, we used it in the shade

3)White pad speed 5 if your looking to clean and do a little correction. Finishing pad speed 4 or 5 if you just want some good cleaning and protection.

I used it like i would a cutting polish (speed 6, slow passes) in some areas of the paint and it worked beautifully!

That makes me really want the XMT 360 i ordered get here quicker, as I've heard quite a few other people say great things about it. I also really want to try the prime or prime strong, but I just can't bring my self to try it out without trying out the whole system. (detailing is an addiction) I'm also curious about how sun friendly the jeffs werkstatt stuff is.

Send me a couple of empty plastic bottles and I will fill them for you with Prime Strong and some other JW stuff so you can try them out.

How does Menzerna One-step Acrylic Jacket rate? I was thinking of trying this on my wife's car.

It's a very good product, a little on the expensive side though. Comparing to Prime I would go with Prime or any of the other Prime's.

Wow, bringing threads from the dead, I like it. Hope he liked all the JW stuff I sent him. I dont remember. I know I sent off about 5 bottles though.

Meguiars #66 is the only 1 step product that actually covers multiple steps.

1) Heavy swirls

2) Medium swirls

3) Light swirls

4) Clean/Glaze

5) Protection

6) Gloss

Klasse AIO for instance does not remove swirls. As it does not remove swirls its not an all in one product. It really only performs step 4,5 and 6.

Poliseal will only remove very light swirls. On new cars this is a good all in one product as it will remove light swirls glaze the paint and provide protection. It performs steps 3 to 6

XMT is also similar performing steps 3 to 6.

Meguiars #66 has the ability to remove medium swirls, clean the paint and leave a glossy wax. So it covers steps 2 to 6. If the car is light coloured and you have a rotary buffer it can remove heavy swirls as well. Its covers more steps than any other product on the market.

That said, here is what I am looking for. I am looking for an AIO that thoroughly cleans the paint in preparation for a Carnauba LSP while also putting down a good looking 3 month paint sealant, and has the ability to remove only very minute swirling, i.e., not too abrasive as I plan on using it often.

Have you thought about ColorX? It would be perfect if you plan to follow with a carnauba, and it is mostly a chemical cleaner (or at least it doesn't strike me as particularly abrasive). Plus it is cheap, can be bought locally, and is easy to use.

I think if I didn't already have a lot of boutique products like KAIO, I'd use ColorX as my pre-wax step more often. It's a good product.

The 3-month durability claim on an AIO product is kinda iffy though. 3 months of what? And what do you mean by lasting that long? Like still beading strongly after 3 months? Or like the last little bit of it is gone by then?

Zaino All in One!!11!!-I seem to think this would suit you best, relatively expensive but a little goes a long way. Ive used it about 7-8 times and have 7/8ths of a bottle left. It even has a carnuba like look (I guess) and isn't too abrasive. As a test I taped up a section of a door on a black toyota that had some significant marring, worked it in like I would a polish (which I never do with ZAIO) and it removed alot of the marring and hazed the paint considerably. Caveat-It was most likely due to the blue edge pad, but thats FWIW.

FK1 215

I really can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with NSXTASY on this one.;)

ZAIO is my favorite AIO. But as Accumulator said, be careful with it on the soft stuff. You can use it on the soft stuff... it won't leave any white yucky residue behind, just be careful when you apply it.

Did you have to keep the pad damp through out the detail to avoid dusting?
