hey all,

i was at pep boys the other night after i got off from work and this guy at the store was telling his buddy that meguiars product does not work. he said to his friend that he uses only mother's stuff because it works way better than meguiars.

now i kept my mouth shut and minded my own business but he kept ranting out meguiars saying how it sucks hehehe. i know people are entitled to their opinion but i think saying meguiars suck is a bunch of balony!!! THIS GUY IS FULL OF IT I THINK!!

ive used meguiars such as the megs #34 final inspection and megs #26 carnuba wax and they both yielded me great results. now i am not the best automotive detailer and i do it as a hobby on my car but im pretty sure meguiars is a good product .

besides existing since 1901, i like the fact how meguiars plenty of product in their line-up. i really like the mirror-glaze line.

for you experience detailers out there such as poorboys, charlesw, beemerboy, cleandean, and more, IS IT ME OR THIS IS GUY I WAS NEXT TOO FULL OF IT!!!!! to me i think the guy doesnt know how to wash his car right if you ask me. EVERYBODY PLEASE PROVIDE INPUTS. even your experiences with megs products.

Maybe the guy wasn't getting the results that he expected, and that would explain his feeling about Meg's. I have used a number of their products with great results.
I always have a jug of NXT car wash around and #83 (DACP) is another great product. I've used the Deep crystal system, ScratchX and PlastX all with really good results.

People just have their favorites.

I've had good luck with Meguiar's products and think he is a little disgruntled or mixed up.

FWIW, it's not just at Pep Boys. There is a lot of incorrect information being spread around on detailing forums as well.
Just ignore them unless the misinformation is going to affect you or a friend. Remember if he knew what he was talking about, his car would look as good as yours. You don't want that to happen, do you? :D
 
I don't get all the hate that's tossed in the Meg's direction, but my initial workings with NXT 2.0 have me thinking it's one of the best LSP's I've used. Yeah, right now I'd put it up there with Zaino, as both are LSP's I'm using for the first time. I am honestly more impressed with the 2.0 as of this moment (based on looks and slickness), mainly due to not having quite as high an expectation, yet receiving as good as, if not better, results than with the Z.
 
To start with product is 10% process is 90%...Megs has a full line of professional products, they are about as good as it gets. The stuff that you see OTC is for the weekend guys doing their cars...I would agree with you this guy was full of it, as Jay said maybe he didn't get the results that he was looking for or had to high an expectation for what the product could do, didn't select the right product to do the job...there could be a list of things that would cause this guy to feel the way he did about Megs....I'll go back to what I said to start...10% product 90% process
