Wettest/slickest and POP for new Nighthawk Black Pearl Honda?? CMW vs Souveran vs NB?

Has ANYBODY heard of the search function?



So what's it going to be? You can make umpteen-billion combinations with glazes and carnaubas or liquid carnaubas or whatever. You can do ANY combination on black and it'll look amazing as long as you prep your paint! REPEAT... prep your paint!



The same "what's best on black" has been discussed so many times it'll make you sick. Point being, there is no "best." It's in the eye of the beholder. I disagree with everybody here. A paste wax that gets ZERO discussion here but which looks better than 98% of the ones mentioned already is 3M Perfect-It III Show Car Wax. It'll make your car look like baby oil was slathered all over it. Throw that one into the mix. Slap RMG or VM underneath and you'll love it.



If you have the CMW already, that looks the best on black based on every wax mentioned here. It is the only other one in my experience besides the 3M which you can see a deepening of the color.

is RMG worth using if applied by hand, from what I understand it is most effective, as it's name suggests, when used with a machine polisher



I intend to apply all products by hand exclusively, polishers scare the crap out of me --- would this dramatically affect which product I should be using?

You will NEVER get the results by hand that you can get by machine polishing...and the first several years in my detailing business, I did EVERYTHING by hand. You can polish more deeply and just as important, more evenly via machine.



Read up in our machine polishing forum. The PC, UDM, G110 and Flex are all n00b safe with a pretty small learning curve.



Poli-Seal has mild abrasives in it, so even by machine, it won't remove anything other than light defects. I sometimes mix it 50/50 with Optimum Compound to get more cut. On soft Honda clears, that ought to be enough to correct up to medium defects. Follow with RMG and the carnauba of your choice and you should be pretty happy.

Spilchy - yes you're right, it's a repetitive thread topic and i have searched extensively but i'm looking for definite answers in my impossible attempt to find the 'optimal' or 'best' product combo. So you're right and you're wrong, it has been very useful to me in that I got some solid answers and recommendations - so I guess you could accuse me of being selfish in creating another similar thread to get personal recommendations for my situation/car/environment.



Scottwax - thank you again for your contributions & recommendations, they're exactly what I'm looking for. I will go buy these products now and maybe post results depending on what happens. Nevertheless, machine polishing feels like taking an angle grinder or sander to the car but I will look into it further (i saw lots of good comments about the ultimate detailing machine).

You're right and wrong. There's no definite answers in finding the "best/optimal", thats pretty much impossible when it comes to aesthetics. As the other guy mentioned, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, you just have to try things out for yourself. If this thread helps you than thats great, but in all honesty I think any of the things mentioned in this thread will make you happy.



Having said that, RMG really gives you a wet / glossy look but it does darken the paint a bit. Souveran will get you a really wet glossy look as well and great depth, but pop might not be as much as others. I thought Poorboy's Natty's Blue is a great balance between depth and pop. P21S has less depth than either of these but more pop. I haven't tried P21S 100% or CMW so can't comment on these.

i applyed a nice coat of souveran wax. this is the third coat in a month. what an awesome deep wet glossy look!!! thought id share a few pictures of the hood. can you say WET PAINT!!!!

RMG -> NB is the wettest for me.



RMG -> PS is the second wettest with a little more depth.
