Wetsanding... too much....

Today I removed the rear spoiler of my Subaru (to get more "stealth" look)

But that spoiler was so tighlty fixed onto the bootlid that it left a mark on the paint.



I tried to wetsand it away, wich worked, until I saw that at one place, I sanded trough the clearcoat. Not very much, about 5 on 5 mm square.

Can I fix that myself or shall I live with it ?

Other option is to place the spoiler back on, wich will cover that aera...

Wait a sec, what are you doing with the holes the spoiler left behind? I would think you need to have those welded in and the trunk painted anyway.

Such a small area wouldn't be hard to touch up with clearcoat. Just clean it up and layer it on thin a few times then lightly wetsand it slightly above level and then polish it to flush.
