Wetsanding, PC... will it turn out?

Hi all. I've got 2 chips in my hood from some stupid rocks... I'm planning on touching it up this weekend, and, following the Autopia guide, will wetsand it level, then use my PC to polish it up. my question is: will the PC remove all the micromarring that wetsanding will produce? I don't want to make it worse that it already is.

My local woodworking store carries boxes of the stuff - 2 4"x6" sheets - 1500, 1800, 2400, 3200, 3600, 4000, 6000, 8000, & 12000 grits. Just make sure you use a hard backing block for the paper - the one that comes in the box is too soft and I created a dimple.
 
Before you go the wetsand route, I've heard good things about Langka. Do a search and find out more, but a friend told me he used the stuff and was quite pleased with how it turned out.



He said that you put the touch-up paint on the car and let it sit for at least 24 hours, but no more than 48 hours, and then use the lanka to rub over the spot and it will level off the touchup. He said he then used a SSR to clean up the area a bit and finished with a topper.

I'm not convinced this Langka stuff is such a good idea... I'd prefer to do it "properly." My original question still stands... will the PC do a good job of removing all the sanding marks from using 2000 grit sandpaper. I'm not sure what compound to use with my PC either... help?

All this talk about wetsanding got me outside yesterday for a little trial/error session.... I ended up using 1500, 2000 & 2500 grit paper. Then got some DACP/yellow pad and the PC. I would have liked to have a rotary, but the PC did a fine job.
 
I just went through wet sanding about 15 rock chips on my hood, after filling them I started with scratch X by hand on every one of them individually, then 1Z-PP, 1Z-MP, AIO the entire hood and the hood looks great. The chip spots do not match completely but you have to get pretty close to see where they are.
