Well after doing my car a couple of weeks ago it became more noticable how badly stone chipped my pro drive bumper was. My car does 380 miles a week all motorway and the front was peppered with chips.

If this goes wrong i will get a pro to re-spay it but thought i would give it ago my self.

stage 1.

Washed the car and tried to remove all ground in polish out of the chips.

I was left with this :doublesho :doublesho

I then clayed it to try and make the surface as clean as possible and then i opened up the new chip stick pen. Tried to fill the chips in with a cocktail stick but it was taking for ever and i could not get the hang of it so i trimmed the brush pen and used that.

after 1 1/2 hours i had done an area of about 10cm by 10cm, here is it so far.

I covered at least 90% of the chips some, in the above pics some of the flake looks like chips.

I used nearly half the pen so i am back to the paint shop to get another one.

Got the 2500 and 2000 grit paper ready, just hope it goes ok:confused:

I'll be real interested to see how this comes out....just looking at what you started with a repaint looked like the answer to me....Keep us posted please

You might as well have it repainted and apply some of that 3m film.

The paint don't look like its matching to well.

Maybe the wetsand will match the colors again? That may be pushing it but what the heck, it can't look any worse then before huh? Plus if it does work, you'll save the bill for a re-spray and you'll have some experience wetsanding and polishing

I'm sorry dude, but your going to have to paint that or settle for something second or third rate.
