Wet sanding Pahse 2 (Pro drive bumper)

Right well i have left the paint to cure for a few days and decided to takle the wet sanding on the left hand side.

Pre-soaked the 2500 w&D for 1hr washed the front of the car and tackled it.

So it went from this (Before)

To this

making sure the w&D never dried, i did the top half first then the bottom half first and was left with this! :eek: :eek:

Scary stuff!

Then with 4" orange LC pad used SSR2.5 buffed off after product truly broke down really putting the pressure on at times

Then attacked with 4" LC white pad and megs #80.

OK so it's not amazing and no where near as good as having a respray but i am very happy with the outcome so far. I just need to do the other side now, and a couple more on the above side.

What do you guys think?
 
Nice job there buddy. Definitly worth the time than paying the $ for a repaint. 100x better, thats for sure
 
See I told you to trust me it looks pretty damn good. I've done this a lot on use cars. If you had an air brush it would come out better with less work, but keep it up it looks great. Plus a respray would probably chip worst then factory paint.
 
Wow that is nice. When i first seen it in your first thread, i didn't think the paint was going to match as well as it does. Great Job :bigups :bigups

I beg to differ. Amazing transformation. Your 'before' pictures show exactly the reason that I put the paint protection film on. :) hehe
 
Great job! Honestly, I didn't think it was going to turn out too well for you, but I guess I really underestimated you. I don't think that will happen again. Again, great job!
 
makes me want to get the vw touch up paint and tackle the front lip on my jetta. I thoughty they were dried up bugs last spring, turned out to be missing paint.
 
You did an excellent job on that! I, like TD, didnt think that paint was a match from the early pics, but it looks amazing now! Your hard work really payed off!

Thanks for all your comments guys, it really makes it worth while when i get feedback like this!

It's still got a bit of work to do but it does look 100% better then what it did and only cost £7, compared to the cheapist qoute of £350 to have it re-sprayed.

I was very concerned with the colour match at first as the pen is more a solid black then a metalic, but it has turned out ok.

My only concern is how much clear cote i have got rid off?
