Wet sanding, cutting and buffing with only a DA

I've sanded both factory clear and custom paint jobs and my preference would always be a custom paint job because the odds are better that the topcoat is going to be thicker than what you'll get on a car with a factory finish.



One thing for sure, sanding down entire cars by air or with an electric polisher is a huge undertaking with a certain amount of risk.



One benefit to sanding with an electric DA versus an air-powered DA is that with the electric DA when Damp-sanding you don't have to fight the cord like you do with an air line under pressure. The electric cord is limp while the air line is stiff, it's not a huge deal but noticeable after you've experienced both for hours.
