What kind of proccess should I use for carpet that has been exposed to water for some time? I do not want it to smell/or for mildew to start growing. Thanks.

I would extract as much water as possible, and leave it in the sun with the windows open until the carpet is dry. Don't put it somewhere cool/dark, like a garage.

Another quick way to dry carpet is turn the car on and leave the heater running for 10-15 minutes.

As long as you extract as much water as possible and dry it as quick as possible you shouldn't get any smells.

But this only works if you have an extractor or wet/dry vac.

extract as much as possible, also take clean mf towel and scrub the carpet it helps clean and rush the drying process. if u dont have a air mover leave the windows open in good sunlight, also if u concered about mildew/mold u can use a ozone machine to finish it up. good luck

Gotta pull the carpet up some. There is alot of padding under the carpet they youre not aware of. Mine was fairly easy to pull up in area that was wet. I stuck a stick under it to hold it up while it was drying.. Wasn't a big deal at all.
