not be a smartass but 100,000 for a ford focus? dude your insane. i know its the svt but big deal. car looks nice nice detail work! but you come into a professional click and brag and not show befores? seriously just trying to be nice here but these guys will eat you alive. full wtsand? show me some pics! how did you do it/ process products? nice car it looks flat. but seriously i can post a few picturs a nicly detailed car and say i did it! get my point! don't insult the good detailers who make an honest living! check this article out about your 100,000 dollar focus! lmao

USATODAY.com - 170 horsepower pumps up the fun in Focus SVT

:nomore:

you know about the only similarity i can see between the two engine bay pictures is the fact that they're both in red focus's. the second one is significantly i different than the second, theres a turbo, theres a stainless coolant overflow tank, nitrous maybe, just seems like a big difference between the two photos.

Where's the detailing process info? Why is this even in the Pro forum??? This isn't CarDomain.com. :wall

Somebody please delete this thread already....

Agreed! As much as I love SVT vehicles I cringed when I read what it's claimed value was. It may be worth 100K to you but I'd be shocked if it fetched more then 35K in an ebay auction......

Not to jump on the "flame wagon"

[rant]But you didnt even give us products used. Just factory paint and full wetsand. Also there are major differences between the two engine pictures. And ill give you 325hp in a small car is a lot, but my stock 2003 Yukon has 320hp. Regardless the turbo and intake are not going to add 155hp. So unless you have a fairly shot of no2 [/rant]

I would like to apologize for my rant but I had to get that out. Maybe edit with some products used? Also this probably shouldn't be in the pro section.

Just my .02 cents

well this is not a car forum

I disagree. Although this forum is certainly based upon the art of detailing and every forum member enjoys polishing paint and washing cars, every member of this forum details cars because they love cars. Generally, if you love cars you also love performance and I don't think you should disregard that.

Short of it: Autopia is a car forum.

Autopia is indeed a car forum...however this is better suited in the click and brag not the pro version.

However, apologies to the OP for the harshness of our members, but you did cross a line by posting in the PC&B. 100k?

Maybe with development costs.

agreed. that is because what is put into a car is different from it's value. drop 100k on a car+mods - you're choice if it makes you happy.

value = what someone will pay for something. the value of said focus is well south of 100k or even 50k. a niche market hurts the value farther.

100k to get 325hp? man.... if i only dropped 10k into my s2000 i could be above that.

and as everyone else said....wrong place to post bro. i don't want to be a hater, a flamer, or anything else; but that's a fishy post right there....

Hmm, that's odd. The first pic of the engine bay looks rather stock, aside from the steel wire looms going towards the injectors ...maybe the beginnings of a NOS system (or maybe that's just something you got from Auto Zone). The other picture of the bay shows (from what I can gather) a full-blown nos system with an upgraded fogger kit, upgraded manifold with 2 turbos, custom intake, blow off valve, upgraded ignition system, custom fluid boxes, etc. and one ground ribbon that's not grounded. I smell bull dookey. Nice car, but if you paid that much $$ for only 325 hp (and on a Ford Focus ), you got... well, let's just say I hope they kissed you first.

Dude, you needn't try and impress us with pictures of your (or someone else's car). We're here to learn, get criticism and enjoy other people's dedication, skills and hard work. Do a detail, document it and then post in this section and we'd all be more than happy to give you our critiques/advice... this is the wrong place for this post.

the 1st pic of the bay is before turbo the second pic is of completed turbo

now like i said i have put these pics up for paint and detail not to talk about the car or mods

the car was done by a shop i use to work for "The Auto Spa" here in Mississauga

the owner and I did all the work it took 3 days to do

started with 1500 and moved to 3000 grit

i could not tell you what product he used most likely Production and Malco

i have no pics of the work just the finished product

i put these pics up just for the paint and the detail nothing more

i do not own the car any more

please no one get upset as this car is here for how well the paint looks nothing more

569DEAN - In your first post, you say specifically that these pics are NOT to show paint work. Then later you say that the pics are only up so people can see how the paint looks.

Also, the title of the forum clearly says "before & after". You say that the detail was done by a professional shop, and if that's true, then it does belong in the forum. But your lack of information and detail has invited the kidn of scrutiny that you are receiving.

Finally - to all of you who think he's crazy for putting $100K into a $18K car. I agree with you. But there are plenty of people in this world who would call us crazy for paying $100+ for a jar of car wax. You can't put a price on passion or pride. And if this man loves his car that much, then it IS ABSOLUTELY WORTH $100K. Whether or not someone will pay that much for the car is another story.

epic thread... i enjoy reading and learning from this forum, this is the first time i'm reading a thread like this... I like it, very entertaining!! LOL

Guilty+++ here about the wax thing, but let's not forget that some may spend absurd amounts of money on waxes & cleaning supplies because they simply must have the "best", some spend that money because they can turn it around for a profit... like me. Now, granted you can't put a price on passion or pride, but spending $100,000 on an $18,000 car is just a bit unbelievable to me. I mean really, if buy a car like that you probably don't have the means to throw 100k into it just for kicks. Especially when you know you have a snowball's chance in hell of getting even 1/8th of that money back from it when you sell it. If you had that kind of bread you wouldn't be buying a grocery-getter like that; you'd buy something more worthy of the time and effort you want to put into it. It's a Ford Focus for God's sake. Last thought: He presents this car as a "Saleen" car. When you send your car to Saleen, they do everything at one time, meaning that they do the body mods and engine upgrades all in one go. The first set of pics show a "Saleen style" body kit with a stock engine... did they give you a rain check for the motor mods or what?

In conclusion, I still think this thread is bull dookey. Sorry 56DEAN but your lack of info and shady post leave you prone to scrutiny, though I think you could redeem yourself with some pictures (valid and recent) of the Lotus that you boast of... but don't post them here, as they don't belong here unless you're prepared to do a write up about its detailing process :up. Actually, I'd love to see your Lotus, as I'm very fond of them.
