Well, I am going to the Ford dealer today...

Go to http://www.fordvehicles.com, they are offering 0% for 72 months on 2006 vehicles.

Well, with that math they would be selling the truck for under $15,000 before trade in. Usually when they offer that good of a financing plan the cost is coming out from the other end by giving less for a trade in or a higher cost for the truck. I know Ford is giving some excellent deals on old inventory, but I think that might be in the category of to good to be true. :D

Positive that was his monthly payment, but maybe it was a lease vs buy?? I will ask him tomorrow morning when I see him about his terms and what not. If I remember correctly he said these payments were only for 2 years? Then they probably sky-rocket :chuckle:

Yeah, seems like there has to be more to it than that. Let us know if you can find out the details. Maybe a new truck is in my future.

:getdown

I would sell the Suby first, but that's just me...

I would love to sell the Subie first but the big three sort of screwed me on that one. Think of it this way...The big three, not too long ago, offered everyone employee discounts. So now everyone has a new car and nobody is buying used. PLUS, the Gm discount included Saab so anyone that was wanting a Subaru went and bought the Saabs on the Subie platform for less. I have my car for sale all over and not one bite on it yet. :( Poor Bob :(

:lol

The MSRP on a base 2007 F150 is $19,120. It depends on where you live but, here there were two incentives totallin $2000 bringing the price down to $17,120. With all the troubles Ford is having maybe they are trying even more so than usual to get rid of their 2006 stock?? I am not saying this is definitely the "real deal", I am just saying that it is not completely out of the realm of possibilities...

That's what I'm saying...make sure you can make payments on both before you leap. :secret

Have you looked at a 2006 Silverado? The totally redesigned 07s are coming soon, and they're just dumping the 06s. You can get a killer deal on a great truck. The Silverado is an awesome truck, and my favorite half-ton.

I did look at the Silverados but the Ford guy came through for me. Next week I will be trading in my Impreza. :( and :) They gave me a KILLER deal on a trade in so :woot2: to that! I won't say what the trade in was for but it was $3000 MORE than the Nissan dealer offered me. Here is the deal:

2006 Ford F-150 XLT

Full power everything, minus seats

Automatic trans with 4x4

Triton 5.4L V8

Tow package

All for $50 less a month than the RS and cheaper insurance. And if we can talk a family member into using their Ford plan it will be almost $50 less a month yet!

And this is a 2 year lease so if I hate it or get bored I only have to wait 2 years.

Hell , Ford's so hard-up for business , they keep sending me letters telling me

that there's a desperate demand for 2003 Rangers on the used market ...and if

I would kindly oblige them by trading mine in , they would make it worth my while on a new one(preferrably an F-150).

Lord knows I can't even leave the house anymore without someone offering me

a boatload of cash for my rare and much sought-after '03.

So , yeah , I'd say you could cut a good deal when their market's as such

that they're out almost begging for trade-ins under any B.S. pretenses.

Yeah, my friend who has a Hyundai Sonata got that BS too when the new one came out...but people actually believe that crap, a guy at work showed up in a Scion tC, so I asked him about it...turned out to be his son's...which they had "offered to buy back because they are in such demand as a used car"...oh brother...I asked him if he was going to do it, he said no, his son only drives it back and forth to school

You don't need a family plan...I ordered a FX4 Screw last year w/my specs and paid 400 under invoice then got 3K in rebates on top of that....MSRP was 39750 and I walked away at 31240....Dealt with internet dept...Family plan would have been only $100 cheaper....Then went on ebay an bought leather lariat seats for $90....Also, If you keep vehicles for a lengthy period of time...I would buy it rather than lease....Don't know how much your payments are but mine are just over 500...Sounds like a lot but it will be mine in 5 years...At the endo of 2 years..you will have nothing...even the money you had from your impreza is gone...If you are gonna lease..I would sell the impreza out right and keep the dollars...Run the numbers to see what the diff is by you keeping the dollars and how much more it would cost in making payments over those 2 years...Just don't want you to come up in 2 years and have to finance a truck for more than its worth or havta take money outta your pocket for another vehicle...

Thanks everyone.

I guess I did not mean the family plan. I meant the employee plan. There is a wasy for us to get that and he showed us that we would be saving another $50 per month.

p.s. I like that FX4

My point is that if you aren't at least at invoice for the truck, you are paying to much. The employee pricing is not that much better than invoice. From the price difference you are saying is that it is around 3K cheaper than what you are paying now..That is based on $17 per 1K...I know for a fact that employee pricing is nowhere near that much below invoice....For my truck, there was $1200 dollars in holdback money due the dealer even if it was sold at invoice, plus the get other money back based on the volume the dealer sales....It was the fleet mgr I dealt with. When I brought up invoice price and let him know what the hold back was and told him I was doing competitive pricing that he needed to shoot me his best price because that was the only price I was taking. I wasn't going to spend 3 or 4 hours haggling. He shot me $400 under invoice and the deal was done. Ask to see the invoice and also what the "A" plan is...If they want your business they will show you....Or if you get the vin# that you are looking at and they have an interent site then you can see the invoice there or use fordvehicles.com and build the truck with the current options and you can see the invoice from there. The invoice should be your starting point not the MSRP. These trucks are marked up about 5K over invoice....I did about 4 months or research before I ordered mine. Good luck...If I sound passionate about this it is because I am. I hate to see pay to much for a vehicle. I lived in Hawaii and dealers there marked up vehicles 5K over MSRP and people still bought....

That's a long way from the 4 bangers you were looking at earlier this month , Bob.

Hope gas mileage wasn't really that big a concern for you. :nana:

Anyway , congrats on the new truck...hope you like it.

The extra interior room and comfort should be worth it in itself.

Congrats :2thumbs: I am envious, would love to have an F150 Screw myself but the gas required for the 2 hour daily commute makes that impractical :(

Not sure if you ever intend to mod that 5.4l but, if you do or if you need any Ford parts check out the forums at http://www.modulardepot.com. There is a Ford parts guy (Randy) there that gives a pretty good discount on Ford parts and the site is a cornucopia of information on Fords and Ford modular motors in particular :D

Well the Subaru did not get good mileage at all. I guess AWD all of the time is not a great gas saver. I was averaging about 15-15.5 city so the truck won't be that bad........I hope.

Thanks! I doubt I will do anything to this truck except wash it and throw on a couple of "Danase" decals. LOL But I am checking out that site just incase. ;)
