Weird Residue inside sunroof glass

I just took delivery of a 2009 Cobalt SS Turbocharged and noticed there is a dark dot on the inside of my sunroof glass. I tried rubbing alcohol, windex, and Goo Gone but it's not budging. I have no idea what it is either. Would it be paint? I don't want to use a razor blade for fear of damaging the stock tint.

The stock tint is in the glass, so you can't damage it with a blade...but glass today seems to have all kinds of optical imperfections, particularly the curved back glasses that have the "waffle weave" pattern in them. Usually small (virtually) flat pieces (like a sunroof) are pretty flawless, but it sounds like it just might be a defect within the glass that you won't be able to do anything about.

Yes, it's sticking out. I shined a strong light on it and it appears to be a dab of paint or residue. Are you sure the stock tint is embedded in the glass? I thought solar tint was still an actual tint.

That color's mixed into the glass, man.

All factory "tint" I've come across is as described.

If you're uncomfortable with that, and still unsure go back and ask the dealership. They can confirm or contradict.
