Weekend Detailing Plans

Well, im sorta in between my detailing now :D



here's what I have done (and am planning to do)



-clean tires with eagle one tire cleaner

-clean wheels with eagle one a2z (new orange bottle)

-wash with gold class shampoo, dry with absorber



-2 coats of #26

-QD with final inspection

-Rain-x on all glass surfaces (3x on windshield, 2x on side windows & mirrors)

-stoner's invisible glass on windows

-coat of 303 on tires



-wipe interior down with warm rag & vaccum carpet/seats

-leather conditioner on steering wheel and shift boot





hoping to finish by 8pm but doubt it will happen :nixweiss

Supposed to rain here overnight...looks like Ill be riding the bike tommorow to work, dont feel like messing up my clean detail job.



Its about 55-60* outside today, but, I got smart and brought our 36" floor heater... its a tosty 80* in the garage now!

Lucky you put yours in the garage nick, cos the Peugeot is now very wet! Its rained!

It's been raining here. If I can get just a couple hours of clear weather Sunday morning I want to do a wash and Zaino. One more coat of Z2 is all the car needs to be absolutely perfect! :rolleyes:
 
My car badly needs a wash but we're getting rain here so that prolly ain't gonna happen till next week.



My folks will be here tomorrow so I'll get to wash their truck when the weather clears.



I detailed two vehicles last weekend (Jeep Gr Cherokee and '02 Ram quad cab) so I've done some good for the world lately.
 
got none Of my plans done, it either raining or looking like rain all weekend....damn Chicago weather.!
 
I was able to clay, clean, polish & apply BF-II to my wife's black car over the weekend. Except for the claying, I did all the steps by machine. I'm pretty happy with the results....so happy that I will never wax, polish or clean by hand again.

The BF II is an amazing product. I was surprized about how gentle it was on my conventional coat. the BF I and any carnauba liquid that I tried always left color in the applicatior. Blackfire II not only didn't bring up any color, it cleaned out the red in the applicators I had. This means to me that it is extremely gentle.



BTW, while Blackfire II is very fast to apply and remove by machine as long as the coats are thin, coats 2 & 3 are just about as easy to apply by hand. Did 2 this weekend at 45 Degrees. Only issue was that I had to leave it on for about an hour before buffing it off.



Beading is fabulous.
 
Mr. D, I'll try that next time I apply BF. I only applied one coat this time because I had already spent so much time with the prep. At first it was a little difficult to spread the product because the pad wasn't primed or saturated enough. But after the first panel, I was applying the product at an incredibly fast rate. It couldn't have taken me more than 30-40 minutes to apply and remove the stuff from the entire car (330I). It was pretty warm here in Los Angeles yesterday, so I was able to apply it to the entire car and then start buffing immediately, which also went pretty painlessly and quickly. I'm really happy with the way BF looks.

Don't know how to explain it, but it gets an even richer texture. BF II is extremely fast to apply whether by machine or by hand. I would recommend a MF applicator over the foam one. They recommend it, and I found that the foam pad they supplied was a bit small for my hands. And I'm very much average size 5'9" etc.

It rained all weekend, it is still raining, the only thing I did was clean the keys. I used a very mild cleaner whilst watching a film. I now have a perfectly clean set of keys :)

Whereabouts in the Uk are you?



Just wish I could garage mine everynight (with 2 cars, 1 of which leaves after me in the morning its not possible :doh ) as I detailed it Saturday and now it looks dirty again :nixweiss :(
 
yeah wish i had a gargage. The peugeot looked so nice on sunday after another two coats of wax after sats rain! Drove to my meet and it has been sat in the rain at home ever since wayeer is beading well though! Roll on sat and another clean!

Everybody,



While I have a captive audience here, I'd like to ask some advice on a problem I ran into during Saturday's wax spree:



My clearcoat wheels have some brake dust residue stuck in the clearcoat from when I Dawned, but didn't re-wax, my wheels right away when I first got the car (4 months ago). I notice that if I really bear down hard with a fingernail (ouch), I can remove the offending bits on the wheels. I tried using Griot's Garage Wheel Cleaner (good stuff, IMO) to clean everything off, and then Paint Cleaning Clay, but it's not tough enough to remove the particles.



Any suggestions on a gentler way to get these particles off my beautiful wheels???!!
 
I think the P21S gel wheel cleaner is supposed to be the strongest wheel cleaning stuff, might want to give that a try.



Did you use a wheel brush as I find that helps.
 
Well, I'm afraid to use a wheel brush, as anything too strong would probably scratch the clearcoat. Am I just being too much of a pansy about this? ;)
