GOT PREP?
I did a detail over the weekend for a buddy of mine. He bought this truck for his wife, the dealer hacks did a number on the paint.
This was a no charge detail, we just hung out and took our time. I started at 9:30 and ended around 3:30, this is a VERY long amount of time for such an "informal" detail. The inside was in decent shape, but the exterior definitely had issues.
Our goal was to get the paint to 95%....there is still some marring in the paint that could have been removed, but we called it a day.
Process was:
was with GC
clay
#84 via rotary and a meguiars cutting pad
PB's SSR2 via cyclo and green pads
PB's EX-P via hand and a foam applicator
OCW
The tires were cleaned with Eagle one degreaser (pro line) eh, I like my local stuff better, but will keep trying.
The wheels were cleaned with an acid based wheel cleaner cut 50/50 with water.
Engine degreased with the EO degreaser, then dressed with EO water-based dressing (pro line) cut 50/50 with water. Now this I like, I have a 5 gallon. :soscared:
#38 on ALL exterior trim.
