Last week I picked up a bottle of Menzerna's P085RD polish from PakShak after Ranney told me how awesome this polish was. I think the posts here about that polish helped a little too.
So over the weekend I just had to try it out on my Mach1, and wow, I think I have a new favorite finishing polish.
1. Wash - Washed with Poorboy's Super Slick & Suds Car Wash, using the two bucket method and an Eurow Genuine Sheepskin Wash Mitt. Rinsed with an open nozzle and dried with a PakShak WW MF towel.
2. Polish - Menzerna CeramiClear P085RD light polish w/a polishing pad.
3. Sealant - Sealed with Menzerna Full Molecular Jacket w/ a finishing pad. Will most likely do a second coat tomorrow, and maybe top it off with some Trade Secret carnauba wax. I may also "experiment" later and try using RMG between the P085RD and FMJ.
4. Miscellaneous details:
Exterior:
- textured black plastic dressed w/Poorboy's Trim Restorer.
- Wheels dressed with Poorboy's Bold n Bright
- Plastic wheel liner dressed with ArmorAll
Interior:
- dressed plastic with 303 Aerospace Protectant
- treated leather with Lexol Leather Conditioner
- treated weather stripping with 1Z Einszett "Gummi Pflege" Rubber Protection. Quite easy to use, the bottle is like a shoe polish bottle with a sponge applicator on the top of the bottle.
Impressions about P085RD polish: first of all, I love the glossiness it gives. I did a little comparisson between it and Poorboy's SSR 2, and the P085RD was a touch more glossier with sharper reflections. (I tried taking pictures but none came out good.) Secondly, I love how little bit you need to polish a panel. It spreads quite easily, and allows you work the paint for a quite a long time. Plus it wipes off quite easily.
Another difference I've noticed between it and the SSR is that the P085RD leaves the paint "squeaky" clean, meaning it'll squeak if you run your hand over the paint, while the SSR leaves the paint feeling a little slick. And it's cutting power is quite good for a finishing polish. It was able to remove most light hazing/swirls I've had on the paint.
Anyways, onto the pictures. Enjoy!
Only polish, no LSP taken with an overcast sky with no sun:
After applying the FMJ, dressing the tires, etc. Sunny day with a few clouds:
