Since its free shipping I thought I might try to capitalize on it. The prices probably come out to be the same but its SO worth it...driving in LA takes just as long as snail mail!!!

Which products are okay to get---windows,engine cleaners, tire protectant...etc

Thanks

JTS

i purchased =refresh unscented,glass cleaner,gloss enhancer,perfect it wax,shampoo,tire dressing,and wheel and tire cleaner

I like the 3m Perfect it wax. It doesn't last as long as some otheres like blitz but it does have real nice shine to it. Easy to use too. Just figure on using it more often than some of the others. The Finesse it2, swirl mark remover, and compound are all great products too.

I switched from their wax to meguiar's. The 3M is easy to apply but it leaves white residue everywhere - especially if you get it on any rubber trim. Meguiar's is much better in this regard. I still like finesse-it II finishing Material for deeper swirls, though, and their hand glaze is also a great product. I haven't used their finesse-it polishing compound (even more aggressive than the finishing compound) but that's what I'd buy if I needed it.

Imperial Hand Glaze is pretty damn good stuff for a final polish before waxing-although I like Meguiars Hand Polish even more.

I really like the following products from 3M. Click on any picture for more info. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions you may have about them.

Has anybody tried these vinyl dressings or vinyl/leather dressing on their interior? I'm curious how they work, what they look like after application and how they smell. Does the scent last? Thanks :)

I have used the one in the green cap/bottle. It works like vinylex initially and had a forest/greenery type smell to it I think. The scent wore away quickly, doesn't last more than 2-3 days IMHO (scent), a week later I was Blitzing the car again (BMW 323Ci), the interior looked clean with little dust but choose not to 3M again, went back to a diet of Vinylex. The Vinylex seems to last for 4-5 weeks with a medium sheen/gloss, the 3M sheen went down considerably to the point where I asked if the owner of the car cleaned the interior.

This was to the BMW's leathette seats, dash, and other vinyl areas.

Your mileage may vary.

i have the 3m metal/chrome polish (in the plastic jar), i am very happy with it's results. worked real good on my exhaust tips (which have not been taken care of for the past 5 years the car was not owned by me).

i also have th 3m plastic polish, which didin't seem to do much about the swirls on my dash instrument cluster.

hopes this helps

Ok I'm here, those look like the 3M Detailing Cloths that I have been using. These do work really well for wiping off wax and polish. However they are a wipe and not a towel. They are thin and kinda small. But don't knock them till you try them. Last weekend when I was having problems wiping off SG these cloths did a more effective job than the cotton terry towels I also use. Their small size can be an advantage for tight spots and they are also great for a mobile QD kid and they are easy to wash and reuse. That said I'm waiting for my shipment of Miracle MF towels to arrive soon (hopefully). Then I can compare and contrast the two styles side by side.

I'm heading for dinner now so please excuse this brief anwser. Checkout these two earlier responses:

3M Detailing Cloths are terrific for certain applications. Yes they are smaller than your typical hand towel. They really work well for wiping off wax and polish. They seem to attract dirt like magnets when QDing. When it captures dirt it works it deep into the pile of the material which allows one small cloth to wipe off an impressive amount of wax. My local paint supply store had them in packs of 6 for $30. The paint shop that recommended them to me had an even larger pack which looked like about 50 towels.

A larger towel is most often better for wiping wax off of a whole car. However for smaller jobs on individual panels or tight areas like doorjambs their small size is an advantage. They also work well for a mobile QD kit. :up

Has anyone used di-electric grease on their weatherstrip with any success? This is GM's suggestion. I just ordered Wurth Rubber Care from ProperautoAutoCare and was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with this product they can share. I'm looking for a product to maintain the weatherstripping on my cars.

I've never used the product, but look forward to your review :wizard:
