weather stripping with a white haze

Hello,

I use a 3M weather stripping and rubber dressing with good results and I also use Wurths too.

However I have a segment of weather stripping that seems to have a white film/residue on it. Its actually the front weather stripping ontop of the front windshield that creates the seal for the targa top.

I noticed that these areas of weather stripping do not have that "finished" appearance.

So what do you recommend to remove this film? Or is it just inherent with this particular weather stripping.

Thanks, John.

I've used Turtle Wax F21 and a MF towel to clean weather stripping, it works surprisingly well. Actually leaves a decent finish too (for a $3 product at least).

It kinda sounds like it could be wax caked on, in which case a soft toothbrush or other brush and some APC might work well for you.
