Got the Hang of it Now
Well, I would like to announce my wife and I's first home. We close on the 15th of this month. Its a 3 bedroom, 2 bath. We have one 18 month old girl and she is the love of our life. We are so excited and are losing sleep over this house. We cannot wait to move in.

we got the house for 134,500 and thats including the first years home owners insurance. Its absolutely gorgous on the inside. Corwn molding, stained concrete throughout, fire place, and ceramic toles in the kitchen tops. A nice little yard for our girl, and a double car carport.

Contrats thats great news ...

WOW 134,500 where I live wouldn't even buy you an out house! I think Its time to move! The realestate market is just insane these days!

Thats guys! Yes, its great to have our OWN house. It already feels great knowing that im not throwing my money away and making someone else rich. We are paying 700/month on this apartment we live in now and will be paying 870 for this new house. Not much of a difference, and we are so much happier. Not to mention the area we live in now has gotten extremely dangerous over the last year. People getting robbed at gunpoint, rapes, burglery, etc...

It was just time to move. This area we are moving in is booming. Realestate is cheap cheap and within 5 years or so, the price of the land is going to syrocket. My sister lives right accross the street literally and she bought her house a year ago for 129,000. Her house appraised at 142k one month ago. Now thats what I call an investment!

Nice! We are looking at houses now and I wish houses would go for that in this area. For some reason houses are so freaking expensive!

Looks like a nice place and good for your daughter.........The average cost of homes here in Sonoma County CA is 520K.....you have about 30% of the market that can afford to buy.......Again good luck with the house!

Good for you! Rent money affords you a place to live, but the money goes into someone elses pocket while paying for their property. It may cost you a little more to own a house, but its like putting money into your own long term bank account with an excellent return on investment. If your loan does not have any pre-payment penalties, you'd be amazed at how much quicker you'll pay your loan off and how much money you'll save in the long run simply by putting an extra $50 per month towards the principle on months where you can afford to. Paying extra on the principle is what builds your equity faster and saves you considerable money in the long run. You may already know all this, but I talk with a surprising number of young people who were never made aware of this. Check out this loan calculator that will give you details on how much quicker you'll pay off your loan and the amount of money you'll save in the long run by paying extra towards the principle if you can afford to. The more you put towars the principle, the more money you'll save and the quicker your loan will be paid off. Even an extra $10 per month towards the principle makes a difference!

congrats on the new home. I've been looking at houses for a few months now. What a PITA. Glad you found yourself such a nice place at such a great price. When are you going to put in the swing set? :D

Congrats on the purchase.
You may not realize it but you just bought a 30 year project, because even when you think your done, there is always something else to do :lol

But you will love every minute of it because it's yours :beer

CONGRATULATIONS on the new house! You got a pretty good price compared to what houses cost here in Hawaii. For a house that is comparable, you'd probably be paying around $500k or more right now...

It looks like a great place to raise a family!!!
